With 1 day played at level 60 my alt was on 30k, that’s after spending gold on legendaries, I think you really need to do the weekly quests and daily callings.
Further more the zereth mortis quests/treasures and the right profession such a herb or mining (mining with genesi buff) will net you a good 6-7k per hour depending how well you optimize the buffs and what you do, don’t forget to sell the zereth mortis greens for 600-1000 gold.
I feel ya, if I didn’t sell carries I couldn’t afford this game either. Having to do several weeks of callings ETC isn’t enough either. You have people like Simplyred and Briselody that have ZERO M+ done and don’t raid or do anything and they are calling you out for not being “forced” to buy tokens. Like sure there’s not a gun to your head, but I get where you’re coming from. Do do even halfway decent progression you need multiple legos and that price ads up. For PvP, M+ and raid I need a diff lego each + the new unity. That’s 4x legos just this patch. Actually 5 because PvP requires me to have two diff legos vs diff comps/situations. So yea… and that’s not including the massive gold cost of consumables, repairs, and the unlockable rep reward mounts etc. Lots of gold sinks and not enough real income to afford it all. The gold system is bad I agree.
You’re getting flak but maybe you’re right. If I’m hard working in a video game, doesn’t that mean I’m being lazy in real life? 
Strange, I have never felt “forced” into buying one. Matter of fact I have found it rather easy to earn gold this expansion. Sure it’s not WoD or Legion mission table levels but you get like 2.5k from covenant dailies, there is almost always another 500 gp in the mission tables and then whatever the rewards are for the daily quests you complete. So even if you are a bit lazy about it, you are still looking at an easy 10k a week. If you really work it, you can make some serious cash just doing trivial activities.
Just want to make sure you know that you can just buy the highest one, right? You don’t have to buy them all in series. That’ll save you a bunch.
There must be someone in your guild that could craft it for you for the cost of the materials. I mean you are in a relatively large guild and the GM is asking for you to be an off tank.
I also am tired of being forced to buy tokens. Yesterday I was just walking down the street when a van with the Blizzard logo pulled up, 3 goons jumped out and dragged me into the back of the van. One of them flipped open a laptop and they forced me to buy a token. I shook my fist at them as they drove away and yelled “See ya next month!”
Yeah i’m aware. I’m pointing it out to show how ridiculous it would be to buy lower iLvl because I cant afford 291. The prices are all inflated.
Ah gotcha. I’m with you in that I don’t want to spend hours farming gold. I just cave and buy a token when I’m low. I know it’s enabling the whole issue, but I’m lazy.
Agree that the legendary crafting system is pretty bad. I bought 2 tokens for legendary on main character. I don’t want to buy more tokens for alts, and mainly 210-235 for alts. Legendary gears are usually the lowest ilvl items for alts. This system is bad. I’d rather grind the gear through m+ or other ways we enjoy.

You can farm the mats and craft it yourself. The AH is a convenience store and the prices are not set by Blizzard.
The game is super alt-friendly. I got my alt to 60 just a day ago and it is full 226 gear from ZM, got to skip covenant renown to 40, unlocked all conduits and boosted to 226. Transferred 100k anima. How is that not alt-friendly.
LMAO hahah @ the title. I have not bought a token and have no need to. That is funny how you are crying to Blizzard about the COMMUNITY who sets the prices. Gold is insanely easy to come by as well. All of this sounds like a YOU problem. Stop blaming Blizzard because you are lazy and stop blaming Blizzard for the community who sets the prices of these.
I’ve bought one token, and that was just to extend game time. At no point have I ever felt the need to buy one.

Not happy to see players “defend” the whole legendary situation blizzard brought. It’s awful and shouldn’t exist in the game in the form it is in. Period.
I don’t care if I have 16-20 hours a day to spend playing the game or not. For me it’s not about the time investment. I hate almost everything about shadowlands(also a reason why I stopped playing 2-3 months ago).
No. Like I said I’m super casual. However they do have the legendaries for their perspective time of play.

If you’re looking for grinds to complain about, sure there are a few in this game, but I think the other games have it way worse.
Yep, and what makes these defenses funny is that the devs themselves disagree with it. They literally said so during the DF professions revamp QnA.
Callings every 3 days, patterns in ZM and replenish reservoir… and you’re telling me you don’t have gold?
And that is not including swapping to alt covenant and doing reservoir is free 1600g.
