I’m def not disagreeing with you. The crafting system in SLs in absolute garbage. I’d probably be tempered to buy a token too but I am currently not raiding and don’t need top tier legendaries.
Clearly this man doesn’t have time for daily quests while working 120 hour weeks to support his three wives and seventeen children.

Thats a big problem that could be easily fixed but they gat money from server transfers…

OP, at this point in the game, getting 60k gold is easy. Perhaps you could just ask your guild leader for a loan until you can get enough to pay it back.
If you do the daily callings every day and have your mission people do the gold missions, it should take you about 7 to 14 days to pay the loan back, depending on how much effort you put in. I bring in about 1k gold on each mission table per day, and I do them on 5 toons. So about 35k per week not really doing anything except my guys on gold missions.

you have 4 toons you say --ok thats easy to get the gold you need without farming or anything out of the way . Mission tables , callings , ZM stuff and paragon chests and one gathering profession will get you all teh gold you need . Just gather what you find as you are doing your normal stuff
I only play one toon and have made well over 3 million this expansion alone .
my pet hate is people who cry poor but wont do anything to make gold . Not having time is not an excuse , you choses to do other things with what time you have in the game . Blizzard has put multiple ways to make gold in the game - it is the players choice to use them or not
I am a dad and I have six toons to 60 and they all are I’ve 200 + …. And I do buy tokens and sell them on the a h and I long play two to four hours a week cause of my busy schedule and if I did buy tokens my guild would help with it
OP the game isn’t gonna get any better and just reading through some comments i’m noticing a lack of empathy. Lots of Blizz knights here thinking the system is fine as it is. May I suggest FF14 or another game that will respect your time and love for the game?

eh well probably since he wants to high end content. I refuse to do shadowlands content above heroic dungeons and world content cause i couldn’t be bothered with the grind for it all.
The legendary system in my eyes is a complete failure because of the gold cost.
It is unlikely to change at this time though but if your guild is asking you to tank ask for guild funds to buy you a leggo.

I think it’s a valid concern for the next expansion given the new emphasis on craftable gear. When 2 or 3 crafted items are locked behind high mastery levels in crafting or whatever they’re going to cost a lot of GP. Token buying to obtain BIS gear will be a thing in the Dragonlands even moreso than in SL.
Gold-making should never have been the point of entry for legendary items. So many people missing the point completely in this thread, getting mad at OP for stupid reasons.
The fact that a fresh alt can purchase a legendary item with the swipe of a credit card is shameful compared to legendary items from past expansions.

So you’re advocating 25 days of grinding. He already said he doesn’t have time to grind.
OP, the special effects of legendaries are the same regardless of ilvl. Just buy a lower ilvl leggo. One piece of lower level armor isn’t going to change your tanking ability.
He’s already said he has multiple characters too. They could all be doing callings.
If he doesn’t have time to grind then he doesn’t have time to play an MMO. Like I already said, maybe Call of Duty would be better suited.
Yeah, that’s fair. All I know so far is that Ion (I believe) said they weren’t doing the same thing with legendary items or crafting because of the gold issue, I think. But, it is something to keep an eye on, because I love that legendary items came back, but the gold costs became a pretty bad unforeseen issue.
Exponentially increasing the grinding. At least you’re consistent.
There’s plenty of ways to make gold, and this thread is already full of people telling OP they manage to play the game and have a family just fine. Sorry if I’m not sympathetic.
I wish they never nerfed the gold gain from old raids. That was the main way I made money. Can’t bring myself to farm mats for hours. Last night I got to exalted with Court of Harvesters and that stupid horse ended up taking like 75% of my gold lol
There has to be a guild jeweler. Have everyone chip in mats for them to make it for you. Other than that, callings and sell mats. An hour of farming should net you the gold you need. Yeah it sucks but if you don’t want to waste $20 then I guess waste an hour of your real life.
