Blizz, stop forcing people to buy tokens. Your system is broken and infuriating

Blizz needs to stop catering to raid loggers so hard. Otherwise we get people mad they don’t have more than a few hundred gold.

Totally agree op. If you don’t have time to do professions, your next best bet is to get a rng boe drop in a raid. If you’re lucky, you might get one during an entire raid season. If you don’t raid and only play m+ or pvp as your main end game content, you’re SOL. I’ve depleted most of my gold this expac and I can’t help but think it was by blizzards design. It started in bfa, when you got all the Azerite pieces that had no vendor value. You had to break them down to literally sell scraps

Haven’t been special, or epic since cata imo. Oh, cool a legendary quest chain quest dropped in that dungeon for me. Or awesome! A legendary stave dropped in that raid! Nowadays everyone gets one lol. They just need to do away with this everyone has a legendary and go back to the way it was before mop imho. Reading these threads makes me feel rich carrying around the 7 gold 20 silver, and 30 copper I have lol.

I have 11 60s on one server but a total of 30 60s but on the server with 11 60s I do ZM weekly quest and get 2k gold and do my anima quest that I get 1600 gold a week wich almost adds to 40k and I also sell all the greens I get from ZM just something to think about

make your kids farm? why else would you have kids!?

Gold needs a purpose, callings give you tons of gold, its easy to make gold

I get you’re frustrated but be reasonable man, it takes no time at all to gear an alt

Then you’re guild needs to butter up the gold, Its not on you to farm when they want you to swap roles. I’d say no and keep on dpsing

But without tokens, I can’t buy battlepets. And you’re only buying one to two legendaries for the entire expansion, I’d say that is a pretty good deal.

Vanilla, the gold cost was lower sure but we all had less gold so it evens out. The devilsaur set was almost required, the plate helm for warr was almost required. The game has had lots of gold sinks tied to player power over the years.

how much money would you have spent on mounts and cosmetics in SL if not for legendaries? all cosmetics are drops or anima items.

what? please explain

but… MMO’s have always needed time to be relevant… you said you’ve played since the start? do you remember attunement? was that a horrible system made by inept devs trying to steal your time? Do you think just maybe as you’ve grown up the person you were that liked wow for what is is has changed, and now you’re a different person that doesn’t like these systems anymore? sure the legendaries are a bit annoying but you’re clearly blowing this out of scale

it is the entire goal of the current design

they only pull back when they see too much negative feedback combined with sub and active player losses

Ion is one of the least sincere wow bosses I’ve ever seen in the two decades of wow

Ion never talks about ‘we’re fine with players having fun and being done, they can play other games and come back when we release more content’ - Ion always infers that any grind shortcuts must be made up somewhere else and that there is a minimum grind time that must be maintained for all players

Ion is all metrics and zero connection with players, unlike the founders

he’s been great at raising cash shop revenue to make up for lost subs, but horrible at player retention

Thats exactly what MMO’s are about.

If you’re looking for something to pick up and put down, with no time investment required, you should try another genre.

You clearly have not played the past 2 decades if you think the grind is too much now. Do you not remember having to Rep farm in order to run Heroic Dungeons? Rep grind to get flying mounts? Rep grind to get inside of a Raid? Attunement quests? Rep grind to unlock item enhancements?

the grinding is too much compared to the other current options on the market

If people think the grind is too much and there are better options, why don’t they just play the “better options”? It is insanely easy right now especially when comparing it to the past, which I was responding to.

They are doing it, do I have to remind you of the great migration of WoW player to other games? the rest who still are here are addicts, people in copium, people who are only interested in the instans content, and some like me who come after 10 months to see how bad things are. :man_shrugging:

I just want to say that many of the people who claim “you aren’t FORCED to buy tokens” were some of the crowd claiming they were forced to pvp for pve gear in 8.2(iirc).

I think most people understand what is meant by the word “forced” in wow context.

Mobile games don’t “force” people to do microtransactions but we all know the design is to funnel or nudge you in that direction.

I have decked out 7 characters so far in 2 291 legendaries each. I waited until the gear was low enough in cost so I could afford them. I’m still waiting for the cloth items to drop in price for my 2 casters, as I haven’t got the kind of gold they’re asking. Until I can buy them, they are both running around with a single 265 belt from the quest.

I didn’t pay more than 25k for any of the pieces that I got and lots were under 20k. Patience is the key.

The bolded is the funnel. That is how p2w games and mobile games operate.

hit the wall
either wait for it to be removed or buy X to bypass it

That patience either extends sub time if they don’t buy tokens or nudges people into buying tokens and they know it. That’s not cool for a subscriber based game. It’s kind of dirty.

Just train your kids to farm gold for you.

I don’t have much advices for you since I haven’t played Shadowlands in a long time (over 2 months) but yup, think I’ll stick to doing Vanilla zones for a while longer…
