Yea I dont like the process for new players. They come in and dont know where to go or why to go there for leveling.
It should be 1 to 10 EK or Kalimdor
10-20 TBC
20-30 WoTLK
35 to 40 Cata
40-45 MOP
45 go to WoD and make garrison, then leave go to Legion after and get hearstone and artifact things, then leave.
Then BFA you can do intro and then mostly skip, then SL you would do the rest of the leveling from there up to 60 and get your Cov, max it out with ease, then go into DF and level from 60 to 70 there.
Thats how to do it quick and easy.
Ummm not trying to burst out or say anything out of context. Though, leveling is nothing but the solo purpose of the entire game. Highly doubt they would get rid of leveling on a global scale.

Umm, to be honest, kind of with OP on no more leveling. IF you’ve done it at least once on an account. After that it’s like…I just want to play X class in current expansion/Dragonflight. Don’t want to endure boring leveling dungeons or get caught up in another older expansion when I just wanna run around in the new one. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE older expansions but in my terms not forced to go there to level…again.
Yes I know there are work arounds and guides on how to level fast (great, more research in a video game). But still an unwanted time sink instead of desired time sink.
You know, I would be curious in seeing an expansion that adds no new levels but is built entirely of end game questing and content. I wonder if it’s something that has ever been discussed.

This is what I am saying, there IS a different way to make it just as fun, and rewarding.
Questing is the heart and soul of RPGs.
It still can be, but dont make it for level gains, maybe do it for stat increasing knowledge shards that imrpove your characters overall stats permanently. That way, new expace comes out, and you can either run all the new dungeons/keys till you hit a certain character skill level from knowledge shards collected or quest for the same knowledge shards
Honestly Legion was the perfect time to cap levels and then implement a paragon/legacy system via Artifact Weapons for ‘level’ progression and have that be a core part of the game.
Or here is another idea, maybe, keep it all the same and let us roll a full level character after you get one 70 achieved. So that way, you get to end game, decide you hate the class, just hit a fresh level 70 token you just got from leveling the last character. After that, you would need to level another character from 1-70 before you get another “free instant” character
You do realize the game requires things like sub fees to keep going right?
So taking away things that take a little time lowers the life expectancy of the game.
So here’s an idea. Take the 2-3 days it takes to level a new character and stop asking for handouts

I’m taking the bait…
Leveling has always been a weakness of WOW. The leveling experience hasn’t been very engaging or fun although it has gotten better over the years, I don’t wanna see it removed, but I want it to be enjoyable and not feel like a chore (like in vanilla, where it was a job) maybe they should take notes from games like SWTOR or hell, even GW2 has a vastly superior leveling experience.
