I like the sound of that, although the issue for blizzard would be paying you with money, for a service that would lose them money. And money is all they care about, they don’t care about the game at all.

It takes 2 to tango. Players cheat, buy gold, thus PLAYER CREATED ISSUE.
players didn’t add boosts. players didn’t take away the lvl 55 requirement to make DKs. that alone makes buying/selling gold easier/cheaper. for the playerbase. there was demand, yes. but there’s always been a demand since day 1 of WoW. but guess what? tokens weren’t added until WoD, and bots STILL weren’t nearly as bad then as they are today.
players, to an extent, take blame. yes. but overall? blizz’s fault. because to add onto everything player’s didnt do, players also CERTAINLY didn’t gut blizzard staffing. blizz did. less staff = less manpower to actually take care instead of the issue vs add monetization that came 3 xpacs later.

yes, it fights the goldsellers by hampering their business. it also gives blizzard even more money, since it’s their IP, knowing that it goes through their system and not through a third-party site that they have no affiliation or contractual agreement with. additionally, having players go through blizzard instead of third-party sites, it gives the buyer a safer way of purchasing gold. with or without the token, players are still going to buy gold.
Players have been breaking the TOS since 2005 with gold buying….Player created problem.
