WTF mine is so old I wanted to buy a new one but blizz isn’t making new ones why?
I don’t own a cell phone and never want to own a cell phone. I now have to go out to buy a cell phone just to authenticate my game?
This seems pretty messed up.

The fact that you don’t own a cellphone is amazing. Sadly i could not live/ Work without mine.
Link to mommies phone?
you don’t need a phone, u can download an app on ur computer. idk, their auth setup page should have a tutorial or smth
Get a super cheap Android tablet, download the mobile app.
Wow isn’t this cute.
This is why I cherished my physical authenticator all through my recent 560 move north from Detroit…
Walgreens burner. You can wow and bag man for local college team.
No need to buy a tablet, just buy a cheap no-contract phone.

I think technically you can get authenticator to work on a $30 amazon fire tablet.
Also this. You don’t need a ‘phone’ or cell service, just something that runs the app, also need to connect to wifi to setup/restore, but it works even if not connected.
Might work with bluestacks, it’s an android emulator. Google it.
you can use a tablet also (android or IOS)
Or any other device that will allow Android or IOS apps.
Authenticator does not ask you to enter the code every time you log in. It only does it if your IP address/device/location changes.
Run an Android emulator on a Linux machine. It’ll work.
Or maybe it won’t. We’ll see once you try it.
Your can use Winauth
Its a windows compatible authenticator.
It can be used for any RFC-6238 authenticators, as a result it works with many games including WoW.
Its a standalone executable, however having it on the same system you are securing somewhat defeats the purpose.
Spend 4 bucks and put it on a small flash drive to protect yourself and your good to go.
Hope this helps
Is there some point at which the physical authenticators will stop working? I have one plus a spare I’ve never even opened. I’d just as soon keep using mine.
Wait a minute, do you not have a phone?
I got a physical one back in 2009 or 2010, I had to disconnect it recently because the battery inside it seemed to be going dead, took 3-4 tries to get it to give me a number. It was the old style with the picture of a core hound on it, so I removed it.
I’ll probably put the app on my iPad in the next week.
I have the same one. I must be lucky mine is still going lol.
Mine is still going but it would be nice to have a back up because I cant imagine it has many years left in it. It’s been like what 13 years?
Just seems pretty messed up to stop making them after that whole BS comment wyatt made about “you guys dont own phones?”
