Blizz needs to really punish people that leave keys severely

So I’ve ran 8 keys and only 1 was successful the other 7 keys I ran people left and it really kills my motivation to even want to keep running keys when this is what happens majority of the time I’d suggest a week ban from running keys if people leave and mind you this is on my paladin

it’s clear that a solution is needed. I’m with you, in a format that you cant replace leavers, it gives too much power of the individual over the group.

People arent obligated to waste hours of their time wiping with inferior players. Blizzard is never going to punish people for teleporting out of an instance.

Instead people will just cut the power to their wifi, lol. That isn’t a solution.

It is frustrating when people leave early, especially when the key is still recoverable. Unfortunately, you cannot control other player’s decisions.

They punish leavers in Overwatch. I don’t see much difference here. There at least needs to be a metric tracking how many keys a player starts but doesnt complete, and were the first to leave, so its visible to the lead when they’re forming their pug group.

There are two major differences between Overwatch and M+. M+ is pve content, and it doesn’t utilize an automated matchmaking system.

There’s a reason why leaving battlegrounds and qued heroic dungeons gives deserter.

League of Legends has escalating timeouts for leaving repeatedly. especially if reported by the other players. This is not a new problem. Other games have answered it.

my friend, if people are leaving 7 out of 8 keys you run, the problem is you. i ran an 11 HoV tonight and grabbed 2 1700 pug dps and one friend who was undergeared and hadnt run it figuring it was fairly easy to push him though. Ultimately, both pug dps were pulling sub 20k and not even grabbing explosives while pacmanning sanguine like an all you can eat buffet. We called it after hyrja when we realized what was taking so long.

Nope. I’m not going to be held hostage in a bad group.

Yeah, gonna have to disagree on this.

If it’s a wipefest, you can’t keep somebody there. If there’s a penalty for leaving that is “severe” then all the person has to do is just sit there and not participate. It will end up an unenforceable rule. It’s bad enough that after a wipefest I’m paying 500-1000 gold in repairs, not to mention pots and food.

The difference between OW and WoW is that OW is competitive PvP, and mythics in WoW are PvE content.

As Vantiea said above, if you’re having leavers in 7 out of 8 runs, then perhaps you should look at your own performance … you’re the only common denominator. Either you are far underperforming, have a bit of an attitude, or you’re inviting people that are under-geared. Something is wrong with YOUR parties … because I’m pretty sure the vast majority of people playing WoW don’t have severe problems in 87% of their runs.

And, lol … a week ban? WTF? This iron fist conviction you have gives us a peak into how your runs are going …

Did you stop to wonder if it’s you? Maybe your runninf keys above your skill level.

Remove the timer and i wont leave your grabage group.

They are meant to be timed.

If i wanted to hold hands for 2 hours. Id go hang out with my ex.

And fyi, i can tell if a group will time or not in the first pull.

I support leaving dungeons. Too many people are getting decent rating lately and they have no idea what they’re doing. Makes picking a group for 16+s fairly difficult. I left an azure vault on the last boss cause a hunter that died about 7 times and on every boss decided to tell me a bunch of what i should do differently. Dude had 2100 rating but not 1 clue how to do anything and was at bottom of dps.

What do you consider recoverable thought? This will differ from person to person. I have no qualms sticking a rough situation out but I’m also not afriad to be like yeah no hooe here I’m I’m out. A good example is a 16 cos the other day that I left l. First pull tank and 2 melee dps stood in the worms explosion and insta died. Ok not too bad easy recovery and no more worms so maybe not an issue. First boss is pulled warrior dps dies to first purple line gets a brez, 10 seconds later proceeds to die to the second purple line. Thundering had occured at this point tank and the pali dps are both positive, the ranged dps is also positive while I am negative so I clear on the ranged. Even though thundering now cleared the tank in lack of awareness proceeded to run to the range dps at full pelt getting them killed along with the pali with the bosses cleave attack. Ok 4 dps dead in the first 30 seconds of the first boss. Tank then sits down and goes ummm healer? Like the dps didn’t die to one shot mechanics. So I left

Just don’t play it…that’s all

Let’s hear your solution where it cannot be abused.

do you form your own groups in OW, or is group assembly random?

I do have a question about this. I’ve seen this happen a lot, actually. There is a point in that fight where Arcane Lockdown and the floor purple overlap, and it’s always where someone dies - usually melee. Of course jumping removes lockdown, but is there a way to avoid the two mechanics happening simultaneously altogether? Is it just a matter of being able to jump sideways, out of the purple?

I’ve only had 1 or two people leave keys.

Are they leaving due to wipes? If so see what’s causing the wipes. Is it something you could have prevented?

You dont see the difference in a game that revolves around a matchmaking system that groups pvp based on an algorythm compared to a pve group that forms itself? Also an OW match is capped on time. A dungeon can last 2 hours if your group is bad enough. The issue isnt with leavers its people who die to wise mari over and over and nobody should have to be held hostage to incompetence.
