Blizz, Just Finish Off Multiboxing and Be Done With It

Boxing is within the guidelines Blizzard clearly stated that. It’s only those who use software which is breaking the rules. However the Multi-boxers should using hardware to continue doing their playstyle with caution. Blizzard always reserves the right to change these types of policy and the relationship between Blizzard and Boxers has been at best described as gray. As they have always stated their policy on the matter is subject to change.

Which is precisely why it needs to change to “1 person, 1 account”

Sounds like you’re talking about paid carries. Charging people who are desperate for gear millions of gold for a carry sounds pretty degenerate to me.

This could be tricky to enforce without hitting innocent people. How would you enforce 1 person 1 account with large households? Dorms, or other places where people may share a computer or multiple computers may be running at once?

No they don’t. Multiboxers make people quit the game and have a net negative impact on subs.

If a household is all performing the same actions at the same time, then you know it’s not a household. That’s one way. Sure you won’t catch everyone but there are ways.

You have zero evidence of that. There is however evidence that boxers make them money.

Me putting a low level toon on auto follow while a big toon helps them is toxic? Because that is all I ever do when I have both accounts logged in at the same time.

You’re just mean.

That would take a rather large team to investigate all those people.

People have said the same thing about LFR.

And when you tell people they can’t play their main anymore, or “we’re going to delete all those charactets you worked on for so long, sucks to be you”, you think they’re going to kiss your feet and thank you for throwing away all that work?

Anecdotal evidence is all I can provide, but I had a friend stop playing because he was trying to mine copper and a flock kept tapping nodes. He reported it and was told by a GM that it was legal. That was enough for him.

Agreed 100%

Multiboxing, at its core, is cheating and should be handled with the subtlety of a jackhammer.

End it.

I hopefully cleared up the only issue I could see with the current method of how to Multiboxing in the future. Ie client window size.

Multiboxing in PvP is no more or less toxic than rolling around with a gank squad. :man_shrugging:

I concur, getting murdered by a multiboxer feels just as bad to me as it does getting killed by a death ball.

All of which has dealt with by banning the broadcast software.

“But they are finding ways around…”

Yes, some people are. And if you think blizzard isnt watching this and working on ways to deal with with it, you havent been paying attention to the periodic bot ban waves. Botting is an arms race.

I spoke to a guy in classic who said he would never play retail again until they removed blood elves and draenei. So…remove blood elves and draenei?

In Legion multiboxing gave me a repetitive strain injury to my left wrist.

In wod farming saberstalker claws for the achievement “I came, I clawed, I conquered” gave me wrist problems. Those guys were tough to kill when it was current content, and you had to solo them because it was before shared tagging. The first person to loot got all the loot, which is what a return to single tap nodes would be.

i’ve seen this only a few times in 10+ years of playing. and all that means is you tag the mobs and wait for them to die. it’s actually less work than rounding them up and killing them yourself.
