Danuser is the head writer. What you have seen for several expansions is a reflection of how he writes. During Shadowlands, the “Narrative” credits showed only Danuser and some guy nobody ever heard of who appeared to be some sort of an assistant.
Saying “This game sucks” is valid feedback to you? 
OP takes an issue for people not being up in arms over this, or essentially calling people idiots for liking something that he dislikes, basically being defensive over an nonconstructive opinion he has and practically insulting people.
Loving the game, doesn’t mean you have to throw civility out of the window and just be plain unpleasant and honestly uneducated sounding like saying “marvel writing” (which isn’t even new, yet people pretend it’s new) or all the other buzzwords. Or whatever variation of “This game sucks”. And them saying “I love the game or etc” really isn’t convincing that he acts like he does given the attitude i’m given here. I mean that’s the common excuse.
And the people who disagree with OP, their are not saying their not open to improvement to be had here. Retail should definitely improve, for sure. But making nonconstructive threads like this, really isn’t the way to go honestly.
And going about it with a mindset that it will be just like the old golden days if the same company who did retail improved… that’s never going to happen. Not even Classic can replicate that, because the orgrinal model of Vanilla can only go so far until you notice the faults the game had until it was taken out years later. Sorry to tell y’all this, but this is simply how games work. They hit a peak and it just downhill with troths and hills sometimes.

Yeah, that pretty much sums up OP, since OP is just outright ignoring Wrath’s campiness that we bought up here.
And he should know that while he’s highlighting Lendor’s comment, humor is subjective. Regardless if its “In your face!” or subtle. But he’s sadly not going to admit that, because that would be being honest. And i guess he can’t have that in this thread. 
I love me some nostalgia, but i’m not that blinded on it to a point where i’m unable to articulate why i like something, what are the flaws, and how to improve it.

Anyways, Humors subjective. I find Ed pretty funny here tbh. 
And he’s not wrong tbh, i mean, i always thought the story just exists because the cinematic people need jobs. They can make great cinematics, but can’t write a great story most of the times. I mean, how many times do the Horde and Alliance go right back to fighting each other after EVERYTIME a world ending threat came along to try to destroy them?
