Tiananmen Square incident, also called June Fourth incident or 6/4, series of protests and demonstrations in China in the spring of 1989 that culminated on the night of June 3–4 with a government crackdown on the demonstrators in Tiananmen Square in Beijing. Although the demonstrations and their subsequent repression occurred in cities throughout the country, the events in Beijing—and especially in Tiananmen Square, historically linked to such other protests as the May Fourth Movement (1919)—came to symbolize the entire incident.
Have you considered using actual numbers? 12% of their current income comes from the ENTIRE region that contains China, in addition to numerous other, very large nations and markets.
They sold someone out for the glimpse of the idea of the possibility of getting more of that market, not to protect an existing one. A market that routinely tries to hamstring their attempts, makes them change their games, policies and do other unpopular things in order to maybe sometime catch a peek at those sweet, sweet financial teases. Then steals their IP anyway and makes knock offs that they have a 100% investment on instead of 5%
But don’t let me bring reality to your reality check.
ActiBlizz is just a thirsty boy hoping the prom queen will notice them.
Obviously who control blizzard does not see the same numbers as you saw, otherwise they wouldn’t do such compromises on their game contents, they in game censorship, and accepting the requirements of entering Chinese market of making a new company owned and controlled within China.
I don’t know if blizzard like it or not, or how it feels, but they are actually doing all Chinese government asking them to do, not liking some other companies like google, and they have earn their profit from it. Even if the actual number is like you said, 12% , it is still a large portion of its incomes, and the great market potential lies within.
It’ll be interesting to see what exactly happens here.
Because on one side, this is the biggest backlash against Blizzard I’ve seen since the RealID drama, where they wanted us to post on forums using real names.
But on the other hand…That sweet, sweet Chinese money.
I’m not surprised at all, many of the other Democratic candidates in the 2020 race have spoken out about helping the people of Hong Kong and proposed foreign policy to achieve that. Elizabeth Warren wants to put sanctions on China until they end their human rights abuses against China, and that’s definitely one of the many reasons I’m voting for her.
Do your research my dude.
Also I grew up in Oregon and Ron Wyden was my local Senator for most of my life, he’s fantastic.
