Sure it is.

The only ones doing that kind of thing, are the Chinese government to Uyghurs, at the moment, as well as African Warlords and Jihadis.

If there is gonna be protesters I hope they do it outside. Advocate within your American right by all means because you can, but like all good protesters do it outside peacefully. It’s the difference between a protest and a mob. I see it all the time outside of anime conventions xD

As for the casters they seemingly egged him on to do it. All the giggling made me somewhat wary of them fully knowing what was gonna happen.

Well they reduced the penalty and made a statement that there relationship with China had no influence either way and would have taken the same action if it was someone that expressed the opposing viewpoint.

Okay, so the matter is settled.

Until the next high profile player tests him saying he/she loves China, and see if they get the same reaction. That could happen.

Did you watch the interview? Before it even started it was obvious that they knew what this guy was going to pull and they let it go to live mic anyway.

Depends who you mean by matter settled :stuck_out_tongue: I think a lot of views have reached/are reaching mob mentality still based on the “not enough” posts outside of this thread.

QFT

I would “like” this post but am out for of them for now.

a) What’s QFT
b) There’s a limit to how many times you can heart a post?

And yes, “likes” are rationed. Believe it or don’t. LOL

Yes its enough. Seriously a gaming tournament is about the game, not someones politics. A revolution is no joke and 0 companies would want that statement on their official stream as it reflects on them as well.

Punishment is deserved and I’m fine with the reduction. People just want to be outraged and won’t be satisfied until Blizzard is bankrupt and closing down.

It is actually quite sad as I am pretty sure this is not the intent of Blitz to cause Blizzard to suffer a massive PR disaster. No one complaining cares about HK at all, all the focus is on Blizz and China money. None of the talking rage heads on YT care about HK, they just want clicks.

What the heck. lol no I just didn’t know there was a limit xD Don’t have to read what’s below, it’s just a little additive from reading the Blizzard post.

On a side note I do like how Blizzard stated with esports they try to bring together people from different backgrounds. As someone who works in an ok-funded middle school and works the science/esports clubs I can see what they mean. Heck, imagine yourself back in middle school. They’re all so voracious and I’ve had the mean-spirited kids come and try and take over from the established grounds the players have with each other. They let new kids come in whenever. Anyone who causes trouble in the room is given the chance to make amends for it or is banned until next semester (depending on what they did. Honesty shortens it to a suspension for a week or two).

It’s not quite the same but I don’t know, I can get a sense of it scaled down to a classroom lol

the real question is why the US government has essentially been providing china with corporate welfare since 70s.

the only conclusion i can draw is that the cold war was never about actual democracy and freedom versus communism and totalitarianism.

it was about left wing totalitarianism versus right wing corporate totalitarianism.

which is probably the same reason the us and uk helped fund the eu, another neoliberal fascist entity.

the real answer isn’t to boycott blizzard by the way.

it’s to end US support for the EU and China.

oh and by the way US trade relationships with China and the EU are also incredibly one sided and terrible…we should also put tariffs on them equal to the the tariffs they put on us at the very least…China has huge tariffs on imported goods, as does the EU.

oh yeah and stop outsourcing jobs to countries with evil governments, which US corporations would do by the way if they actually faced severe punishment

Love this post.

Most US adventurism abroad in fact has very little to do with freedom and democracy.

Read John Perkins’ book “Confessions of an Economic Hit Man” for better information.

70 odd years ago people that think like this and the “rules are rules” crowd would have been shouting at Rosa Parks to move to the back of the bus, to sit down and shut up, don’t use public transport as a platform for your politics and walk if you don’t like it.

Have you been to Germany?
Do you know anyone from there?

I can only imagine how you apologists would have acted back in the 1930s.

China has murdered tens of millions of people over the past several decades. Do you think they just suddenly stopped under Chairman Xi?

What happened to never again?
