You’re correct about one of the two of those hypothetical bans.
We certainly needed another thread on this topic.

Am I protesting right?
I agree. But I’m still flagging your post as inappropriate because this has nothing to do with WoW.
Hong Kong Fooey is a problematic character. He’s a racist stereotype and not particularly funny. Hanna Barbara is better to just let it remain in the past.
They made the decision to come down hard on someone for making an anti China statement because they value sales in China more than what’s moral.
You are being naive.
Possible there would have been some repurcussions. I fully concede that part. However, there is zero chance a punishment that severe was chosen by Blizzard.
Thank you. This is good advice. If I had heard it when I was younger I wouldn’t be so poor in my old age living off my small SS payments.
Activision must bow to their cash cow country. They don’t want to lose that sweet, sweet money.
Let me think on this… nope. None of those countries force American businesses to censor abroad, and would have slightly less of a problem with it, due to China in particular. Now, that said, I have a major problem with the outsourcing itself. Blizzard used to pride itself on making every single game in studio, in Irvine, California. They didn’t outsource their games. Now, because Bobby some big Chinese bucks, they are outsourcing a crappy Chinese “pig farm” company that was already stealing Blizzard’s assets to begin with to make other mobile cash farms.
No, simple common sense. Every contract as an “out”, in order to break it when necessary. If they could come up with a catch-all “rule” to trash Blitzchung with, they can do it with a general trade contract.
They will quit Blizzard’s products and services in disgust if Blizzard starts cranking out that crap, that’s why. Those customers demand a certain level of quality, and if it isn’t being met just to get money from China for Big Bucks Bobby, then there’s no point in being a customer of Blizzard.
oh i didnt mean you. i meant the people who you say are offended. its like… .i’m deeply offended that you dont want to be treated like a flesh bag composed of mostly water.
Well everyone I know or have discussed it with except you has said it was the fact that the game was mobile that turned them off. They don’t actually care where it was made.
Not every contract comes with an “out.” Those that do, apply very specific circumstances under which that “out” can be relied upon to terminate the agreement. International contracts generally demand some sort of government compliance, which in turn may further restrict “outs”. It’s not a cut and dried certainty.
Then they can make one. Pretty easy and simple. Just ask Winnie the Pooh.
Modern slavery happening in Libya, are you Hong Kong hacktivists yapping about that? No, and we can only wonder why that is.
Kurds getting smeared by Turkey as I type this, Hong Kong hacktivists yapping about that? No.
Weekly gang rapes in India, Honk Kong hacktivists yapping about that? #metoobutnotyou
Nope. They yapping about the flavor of the month outrage, per usual, for them likes and hearts on forums.

I know it’s hard to understand, but many Chinese support their government and their way of life. It seems completely bizarre but it is true.
sigh
You make it sound so easy
If only real life worked this way. . .
Okay? What does any of that have to do with Blizzard? Oh, right, nothing.
It has everything to do with the community of hacktivist frauds, that’s what it has to do with.
It is easy. Stop being weak. Money isn’t the only that matters to a business, that’s a lie. Pleasing the customer is the top priority, as well as shareholders. Not Chinese autocrats.
Ah yes, let me complain here against all the other ails of the world, as they are all directly related and certainly fit on this Blizzard forum.
Also you don’t know what “Hacktivist” means.
