Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

Ya know, there are far worse things happening on this messed up planet besides the mean ol’ commies not letting people have democracy. Where’s the outrage at honor killings, slavery, famine, preventable disease, war, homelessness, religious violence, a lack of clean water, a lack of basic medical care?

So you think nobody should ever complain about creeping tyranny? Ok.

Blizzard Does not care about ANYTHING but the money period. They dont care about virtue or your rights. Its ONLY about money. It does not matter what sign you bring. Blizzard will keep supporting a government that abuses their people so they can make that Chinese money.

So that means we shouldn’t be upset because other bad things happen? Is that it? Go do nothing if that’s what you’re interested in.

Why is it there’s always someone who comes into these conversations going “I don’t care about this thing, when are you going to take care of these other things that I care about?”

I’ll bring a giant PRC flag and wave it instead, thanks.

No, but I think its silly to blame Blizzard itself when Google is in bed with China, and so is the NBA, and many many more.

Ok all you say sounds good , nice or w.e but you are so blind that you are gonna blame the whole company for an action ? like how radical u must be .

And this a forum game , doesnt matter how bad you feel you shouldnt bring this post to this forum .

Is like bringing home your problems at work . 0 SENSE.

I would hope so, but Blizz banned casters for allowing someone from HK to speak against China. They may not even allow those people into the event. Let’s face it, now that Blizz is ActiBlizz, they care more about making China happy than doing the right thing.

Ooooh, that’s a good idea! Make sure to sneak them in, though, as they might stop you from getting if you blatantly carry the sign in.

I didn’t crap on anything. You created a thread titled “If you’re going to BlizzCon this year, bring pro HK signs!” I am going to BlizzCon this year, and so I responded. I think the part I’m not particularly happy about is:

It just sounds like the kid who wants to poke a bear “to see what they do.” If people want to, that’s fine. But I don’t really like the reasoning behind what you’re saying just being that you want to see what happens, so I commented. This is a discussion forum, I’m allowed to discuss.

All you are doing is posting on a forum dude.

Really? I am going to look that up. Thank you for the info.

So you’re fine with using a company’s products if they leverage child-labor, slavery, and other atrocities to give you what you want? At what point do you draw the line to say “I will not support that organization anymore”?

China isn’t even close to being as powerful as the US, if that’s what you’re trying to imply

Literally every large company leverages those things…you support them without even knowing it, relax.

yes the media only ever shows the picture but in the video the tanks stop and try to go around him, finally other people come and get him to move out of the way.

I think I’m going to have a shirt made up that says

“Hong Kong”
“Every Voice Matters”

That last line is on the ground in the ring that surrounds the Orc statue on Blizzard property…

I think they need to be reminded.

They are ranked 1st as of last year in military, and 2nd in budget. And with who holds the reigns in the White House, I’d say yes, they have a good chance.
