Blizzard Games: often set around the moral rights of freedom and standing up to evil tyrants for honor and justice.
Blizzard in Real-Life: sides with evil tyrants to bathe in a giant money bin.
Here is this tired old crap again. Look, i understand The US government has done some heinous crap. While it has its flaws it is miles better than just about anything out there. People assume we have the wool pulled over our eyes here. We don’t. Yes our two party system is bullcrap and you usually have to choose between a turd sandwhich and a douche. So most of the time we try and choose the lesser of two evils. But to constantly compare the US whenever someone criticises china is just pure deflection. I and everyone else can be critical of China while still being critical of my own Nation. There is no rule that says i can’t or shouldn’t. If i had the power of an entire army in my finger then sure, you could point the finger and say why haven’t you changed things at home. I don’t, i wont, can’t have all that power. There are many many cogs in the nation. I am a small one. So what do i do? I change what i can where i can and i stand up for the rights of others. The rights of the people of HK. And i don’t take kindly when Blizzard is willing to cave to market bullying. Any company really. So, in short yea, we’ve done dumb stuff, eviul stuff and greedy things but its a fair sight better the US vision of the world than what China would have you live as.
Lol. In the US, rights are “natural”. In other words, you have the right of freedom of speech regardless of the existence of any particular government or private group.
Where people get confused is it is mentioned in the US constitution. But the constitution is a letter for the relationship between the people and the powers reserved and restricted to the government.
It’s not a document that grants rights or their scope.
There are concerns that China would abuse the bill to target and extradite its political enemies from Hong Kong and Taiwan to mainland China, where it has more power, which is something it would very likely try to do and due process would go into the toilet.
Will this mean mass jailing? Nobody really knows. China’s never been able to legally do something like this before in Hong Kong.
Against a tyrannical, murderous regime. You can screech about “da rules” all you want, what Blitzchung did was heroic. He could easily be assassinated, his family could be tortured, and his country is currently being turned into a totalitarian police state.
Antifa in the heezy.
Oh, yeah. It’s totally the same as Antifa, who are just a bunch of black shirts breaking merchandise, beating and killing people, come from a rich suburban neighborhood, and are fighting to install the same kind of tyranny, that Blitzchung is protesting against, here in the USA. Totally the same thing!
You are correct Micky. The Constitution sets forth the express, implied and inherent powers of the three branches of Government. The Bill of Rights limits that exercise of power.
The people granted agency to the government, not the other way around.
Dude call it what you will. Kaepernick did the same thing and look where it landed him. If you’re smart, you pick your battles, Blitzchung should have known that.
Chinese people play Blizzard games.
American people play Blizzard games.
Hong Kong players play Blizzard games.
members of Al Qaeda presumably play Blizzard games.
Do you see the kind of situation that could arise when people start being political? Every one of us would want someone to step in when someone says something they believe is out of line.
When Blizzard can’t appease everybody, they enrage everybody, or are seen as taking sides against somebody. No matter what happens, they stand to lose subs and…
Do you think we’d really stand by Blizzard, monetarily, if they lost the Chinese market due to a player’s political statement?
– but nothing is at stake. Hong Kong’s fate is decided. In 2047, they lose their second system. That’s it.
I support peaceful protesters, but I want the vegan extremists, the climate extremists, all off the streets, as I simply don’t give a damn about any of their causes.
All I care about is going about my lawful business, forming good friendships, and I wouldn’t complain at all if the military stepped in and…dealt with the extremists trying to force their way of life on the rest of us, appropriately.
