$10 says people will flag your guild name and they will make you change it.
Then I suppose everyone will blame Blizzard again.

Bye tenchars
That guild name will likely get changed by a GM should it get reported
You can try if you want
Pretty sure it’s stated somewhere politics are a frowned upon topic, or maybe even straight up banned.
You clearly don’t understand what your “freedom of speech” actually covers. Perhaps you should determine that first, then worry about if a non government entity can filter your speech.
Show me where a WoW player was denied freedom of speech. I’ll wait.
Saw a troll guild on here the other day named “MAGA Squad” that clearly hasn’t been forced to name change. So I guess it all depends on whether or not you’re reported.
You are attempting to cause blizzard to advertise your cause in their game. This isn’t your free speech, this is blizzard’s game, so speech is subject to their approval as it is their platform and becomes their speech. You misunderstand the issue son.
Their game, their rules. They can restrict speech all they want in their house.
Instead of coming to the forums to ask this question, maybe you should read up on the ToS and see what is and isn’t allowed.
You’re free to express yourself in any way you see fit or want to…repercussions due to your actions however, well that’s at the discretion of the company you choose to enact your freedoms upon.
I mean, you should be able to name it that. Doesnt seem to violate anything.
People might report it though… although I don’t see the problem, but people report for less.
This is a comment form another thread, it was a thread that was addressing people going out of their way to harass cosplayers and streamers in regards to this issue, it was merged into the big mega thread. (Or at least I guess what blizzard now considers the mega thread) So apologies if it seems random.
The thread was addressing that Cosplayers and Streamers were getting harassed by people for not immediately dropping everything to do with WoW over the one player getting banned for breaking the rules, that he knew he was breaking and knew he was going to be banned for.
People tried turning on Asmon this morning and yesterday.
While I don’t care much for the guy, watching him thrash the trolls was quite enjoyable.
I think Blizzard made the wrong choice here as well. But it’s easy to point fingers and call people cowards and all sorts of other things when you’re not the stakeholder, when it’s not your butt on the line.
Personally I think the fault lies in the industry and foreign policies that created a situation where China can dictate the policies of US-based gaming companies. I don’t want to excuse Blizzard in this case because make no mistake, they made the wrong choice here for their own sake. But I do think they were put into a no-win scenario.
Yep… politics and WoW are unmixy things.
The more I read about this the more it seems like Blizzard did the right thing.
The guy used their platform to make a politically driven message that would have probably never been noticed had he used for example his own facebook page. He needed to reach more than 10 people for his message to matter so he shamelessly used Blizzard’s popularity to drive it home to a larger audience.
He kind of deserved what he got. Sorry.
Yes, heaven forbid someone use a large megaphone to highlight the political situation at home! For shame! How dare he stand up to Winnie the Pooh!
Breaking rules, and rebelling against a tyrant, is a moral right. Just ask Saurfang.
While I don’t have his quote handy, I’m pretty sure he said he expected moderation for his statement, not that he knew he was breaking certain rules.
I dont quite get it. So what I can grasp from OP is that some guy from HK killed someone in Taiwan. HK wanted to jail this guy but cant because they dont have jurisdiction in Taiwan. Yet Taiwan is not a legit country and still belongs to China. So a bill was going to be passed to what I understand would give them the ability to arrest who they want in Taiwan and possibly random people in China? Are people afraid that the bill would cause a mass jailing of innocent citizens? Of course I can see the worry for the protester because they live in a communist nation and would not get much of a choice with what happens. Am I following this right?
I’ve said this before but, had they done nothing no one would have noticed outside of the viewers currently watching that stream.
and even then it would have gone over most people’s heads.
