I think people fail to realize that when these players are being televised they are representing blizzard and they sign contracts stating as such that explicitly states they are not allowed to use their platform as some sort of political agenda. While I agree people that have a platform to speak should speak up for for the lower half of the population that doesn’t, I also agree there should be consequences for your actions if you choose to break the rules. In this particular case the person received a year long ban from a digital card game designed for 8 year olds. I think he’ll be alright.

You don’t understand how forums work, do you?

Someone violates the ToS and gets banned. What is there to be upset about? He knew exactly what he was doing regardless if it was for human rights or not.

We fought against another country to win our freedom and the consequences were death for quite a lot of people. Actions have consequences.

Because you’re learning there are plenty of people who aren’t so good in the world. Plenty of people don’t give a crap about suffering somewhere. The fact that you would bring that into their life of convenience pisses them off.

Its not the majority, but there exist plenty of people that behave nicely only because of the conveniences society brings them today, or because of risk of punishment. In a worse environment or another country, they would slit your throat for a nickle.

It’s not bannable to have an opinion. It’s bannable to express that opinion in a forum when it’s not relevant to the game content.

If you want to express your opinion without getting banned, go to city council, get a permit, and stand outside Blizzards HQ.

You’re not supposed to use a forum to communicate. What’s wrong with you? /s

The CCP is very active on any kind of internet forum where they feel the need to spin their public image. I’d imagine a decent amount of the people reporting you/posting “No one cares” comment are Chinese.

Because there is nothing Bliazzard can do to stop Coommunism, and we the player base of this game don’t want to hear your dumb soap box whining about something totally unrelated to this video game forum!

You care so much, go do something about it, form an activist group and fly to China and protest with them!

Don’t whine and gripe to US corporations as if they can do anything about it! Also while your at it, seek for Womens rights in Sharia based Countries too, and of stop mass genocide of Christians in Africa, and also work on Child Trafficking in Mexico, Gautamala, and lastly help Venezuelan people for a government that allows them to have food!

or its spam and is being treated as such.

Because people love reporting and getting others punished. All you have to do is look at little kids tattling on each other. It’s the default human behavior. Taken online and made easy to do, with no social repercussions for doing so, people will report if they think they can get you punished for it.

It’s almost like automated systems for social control are a bad idea. But what do I know. I only spent over a decade studying and researching human behavior.

No, thats not the case. You want to have a political Human Rights discussion find a board for it. This is about a video game!

Blizzard can’t call up Xi and say yo homie let your people be free bro!

People also like walking down the street without stepping on human waste, which is why we report people who aren’t using the proper facilities for what they want to do.

And you’ve come to the conclusion that the only impetus for reporting others’ behavior is that it feels good to tattle? What exactly were you studying?

Thank you, but I don’t need politics in my video games… I go to azeroth to escape real life.

This is a forum for wow classic… not retail… not hearthstone… not blizzard/activision as a whole… it is also most certainly not an activist forum for human rights or freedom.

We are here to pew pew pixels on a screen, so that they will give us back some pixels we can equip and make our personal pixels play better.

Don’t get it twisted…

Because

A) It has nothing to do with World of Warcraft or World of Warcraft Classic.
B) Politics have NO place on a video game forum
C) It’s just become spam at this point.

Want to discuss it, go to the proper places, the Games, Game Hardware forums, or the Hearthstone forums.

reddit this is not.

And that changes, what, exactly? The fact accounts aren’t free? Bro, you think all those gold selling accounts can’t be multi-purposed?

But you’re not pew pewing pixels on a screen. You’re on the forums telling others how to act. Maybe you shouldn’t get it twisted.
