Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

Shhhhhh you might scare her sheep

Their original statement said nothing about the pride of the country, the Chinese company they go through added that. Not sure if theyll speak up about that or not. Its all jumbled anyway and not a good take.

Oh dear heaven… the irony is now approaching levels that could be considered toxic.

So I’m also somewhat sour on this whole situation and my heart is empathetically on the side of the player who got banned.

That said, neither his right to free speech nor his right to liberty were infringed upon by Blizzard. Free speech has never given people the right to use other people’s microphone as a free platform to say whatever they please. It’s still Blizzard’s mic and they can absolutely stop you from using their services if you abuse it. Blizzard also didn’t imprison the guy so I’m not sure how liberty factors into this.

I don’t like the way Blizzard is handling this at all. But with sensitive topics like this it’s important to keep the discussion honest and avoid the melodrama.

More faux outrage and spam.

Literally doesn’t matter. They banned somebody saying no politics, then inserted politics. There is ZERO doubt in my mind this was a politically motivated banning. ZERO, NONE, NADDA.

China accounts for a lot more. Even thought Tencent only has a 5% share, it has the backing of the CCP, that’s a buttload of subs.

Oh we are losing Shamdumb from Pie Vendor and Misinformed from Ruinous - lol tell me you picked those characters purposely to make this stand.

This whole thing is about what happened in Hong Kong.

Shocked and surprised? That’s mostly people in the west.

Angry? That’s everyone.

We’re talking about what happened to Blitzchung.

Also, and again, had he come out in favor of the Chinese government, he wouldn’t have been punished. At most, he might had received a warning.

Also, it appears that you haven’t read the rule that he “violated”.

I would be disappointed with Blizzard, that they didn’t make clear to their competitors that they were supposed to talk about this stuff.

Good I’m already out.

So I hear they’re thinking about introducing flying into Classic…

There are a lot of videos, today, about how people aren’t able to delete their accounts when they try.

Nitrate infused swine? Gross. There are higher quality meats available.

“Posts”. Whoever starts a political thread is likely to get reported. Keep politics out and you won’t have an issue.
