No? The consequences was freedom. Consequence literally just means aftermath, it does not always have to be about death like you leftties want it to be.
How do you know he’s not? Posting on a forum and playing WoW are not mutually exclusive, especially if you’re currently AA-based.
You’re right. Absolutely nobody died in the Revolutionary War.
No. I’ve come to the conclusion that people report far more often out of maliciousness than necessity and that introduces inherent bias into any automated system. The strength of that bias is such that adjusting the system to account for it renders the system ineffective. Thus, automated social control systems relying on human input are a terrible idea.
Maybe because politics and religion and such things should not be on these boards… if you want to discuss geopolitical politics and SJW stuff… head over the MSNBC or CNN boards…
How did you determine their motivations? Did you walk up and ask them? How did you determine “necessity?”
The selective outrage over “muh Blizzard took his money and banned him” when China has literally been harvesting organs from prisoners, installing suicide prevention nets at the factories and so on but Blizzard is the company that should pay not any of the THOUSANDS of others that kowtow to the CCP to do business in China.
It’s a mixture of simply asking them, and utilizing scenarios in your research which range in severity.
You’d be surprised what people are willing to tell you(truthfully) when they are getting 150$ to participate in your anonymous study.
Because this isn’t a political forum. Unless you’re talking about all the reasons we should slaughter the Alliance.
mainly because this forum is about classic wow. not what happened in Hong Kong. I’m glad i’m American.
I’m surprised at your capacity to determine that they’re telling the truth. Or even that they think they’re telling the truth.
Now I’m really curious: where was the study published?
Because people on these forums are purposely contentious. Most of them probably actually agree with you they just want to get a rise out of whoever they can.
Look I’m all for the human rights of people in HK 100%.
I don’t think this is the place to be discussing it though. This is a forum dedicated for classic and classic related content.
I would report a post of any political kind.
That is one of the assumptions you kinda have to live with in research. Its been shown in older studies that participants usually tell the truth under various conditions, at least when it comes to verifiable stuff. The assumption is that it then carries over to unverifiable stuff as well. We just have to live with that assumption for now since we don’t have the research budget to use an fMRI to asses whether they are lying or not.
As for where it’s published, it’s not yet. We are still writing it up and should be submitting it early next semester.
Because this is a video game forum. Politics don’t belong here.
What I don’t get is if people don’t care then just say “I don’t care.”
What’s with all the mental gymnastics involved with pretending that what Blizzard did was perfectly fine? Of course it’s completely untenable.
Just say “I don’t care about the real world, I want to play games.” How hard is that?
We’ll take care of trying to help out our friends in Hong Kong with keeping their basic human rights, and you can say “I don’t care” and kill dragons for fake video game clothes.
I am not a China bot, I can assure you of that.
#Hyperbole much?
It is funny that many poke fun at the US being “World Police”, yet likely live in countries that enjoy the security we provide. No doubt sternly worded letters from the UN will protect you lot if the US chooses to bring their troops back home, and stop sending vast sums of money out to other countries. Those troops would be happier back here, and we can put that money to use for our own needs.
Mental gymnastics can apparently result in injuries.
