Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

They’re not really “my views”, I’m just sharing what American politicians have said on the matter. You asked what they would do, I gave you information about what they have said they would do. The decision is up to you what to do in November 2020 with that information now.

Again, Camomile, I didn’t “ask” anything.

Seems like the kinda thing you’d wake your boss up over.

Alright guys the forums, the reddits, the news… everythings on fire. What should we do?

Employee: Wake up management?

Employee 2: Nah, itll put itself out…

You should change Communism to American/Western Imperialism there friend.

If your understanding/support of the Vietnam conflict boils down to “America tried to free the people from the evils of communism” I respectfully think you’d benefit from familiarising yourself with the historical and political context of Vietnam.

Just go back to China already. You love living under tyranny. We don’t want your Chinese overlords dictating what OUR companies do, however.

If they do business in foreign nations, US laws do not apply and companies have to abide by the laws of the host nation.

Typical total deflection mode, complete with irrelevant examples.

The one thing that is clear from this is you prefer people to just crawl away and shut up, so your personal space will be comfy.
You live in a dream world.

Hong Kong, and the blatant over-reactions to it, are just the tip of it.
NO government will ever change unless it has to. Sadly, this usually means their pocketbooks, as opposed to their constituents.

Tell THAT to the gold farmers AND the Chinese military in TIBET!

America has done way more good for the world than whatever perceived evils you think it has. Sometimes you have to wonder if all that effort was for naught. We always end up being pinned as the bad guy lol.

Maybe we should’ve just let the east slaughter themselves but we had our own interests in mind as well as allowing communism to grow stronger would only weaken us.

Not sure I get your point Anamoon?

I’m sure invading Spanish Provinces with full constitutional rights and representation in the Spanish courts and turning one of them into a colony with no representation and no constitutional rights other than what’s stated in a law is part of that “WAY more good.” So too was the meddling on democratic elections held in the rest of Latin America and the helping topple democraticacllly elected politicans and placing dictators that kowtowed to the US, all for the “Greater good of the World™”

Yes, we’re such a horrible country.

.>Giant, evil Socialist regime opposing and invading other countries and creating a Cold War scenario.
.>Socialist regime is using stupid, greedy, or sympathetic western companies based in California to spread their propaganda.
.>US Companies become willing stooges for evil Communist regime because they are being fed large amounts of money.
Huh, now, WHERE have I heard of a situation like this before…

Oh, right! “Say it loud, say it proud: the lie is dead, Hollywood was ALWAYS Red!”

Then: Soviet Union used trade unions and front groups in the Hollywood/San Francisco area, to pump out Marxist propaganda through our entertainment industry to the tune of $2 million dollars every year.
Now: People’s Republic of China uses US based media corporations to censor customers and pump out Marxist propaganda through our entertainment industry to the tune of $2 billion annually.

I can smell your sarcasm, Do as I say not as I do is the way of the US.

We just think the rest of the world should see what we’ve accomplished and realize, they should try to emulate what we’ve done. Then, maybe we wouldn’t have to babysit so many nations and share our treasure with them.

Why?
Oh right; more useless attempt at deflection. Or do you seriously believe that the continuing crimes of communist regimes are justified because someone else was also bad, in your opinion?
Two wrongs do not make a right. communism is NEVER right; especially since the adherents of that awful philosophy have consistently shown that FORCE is the only language they DO respond to.

Look at its history then TRY to prove me wrong.

LOL, AMERICA NUMBAH 1.

/dies.

and 10 characters while laughing myself silly

Fine, you’ve made it clear you hate everything and anything about America.
Where do YOU live, and why is it so much better?

The question isn’t whether you want to see Free Palestine, but whether you want to see white supremacist or ISIS next. Because the door swings both ways. You open that up for one thing, it opens up for everyone.

You can change laws. But you cannot simply ignore them, and not face the consequences.

Frankly, anyone with half a brain has been able to see that, ever since the British left, Hong Kong’s days as any kind of independent entity were numbered. Staying there is like living in Florida and complaining that hurricanes happen too often.

Those million people should have run for the hills. You don’t get to stand next to a volcano and complain that lava is getting on your shoes.

The rule of law doesn’t care about your feelings. It works the same for things you like as for things you hate.

Boilerplate clauses like that are put in because you simply can’t be specific about every possible item. They are commonly used in contract law, and if you believe something was not political, you can usually appeal for arbitration. However, this was a clear-cut political act.

The problem is that when you open up to that, you also open up for the other side. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. So, is Free Palestine getting a platform worth ISIS getting a platform? Is the Catholic Church getting a platform worth the Westboro Baptist Church getting a platform? The door swings both ways.
