Yes I’m sure there’s 0 corruption in the US and 0 voter fraud, the US is perfect, the streets are made of gold, the buildings are solid marble and every house has a white picket fence with a dog and a car in the garage.
Never said I hate the US, I just dislike how people like to pretend the US is a beacon of morality, ethics and hope for the world. I live in Puerto Rico, the US own little colony thanks for asking, you need something else or should I go bend my knees in front of the nearest US flag and worship it and forget all the shady crap US companies did here since 1898?
Very good; you admit you live under the protection of the American flag.
NOW…
Go to any other country; any one really, that you think is better than America and post your little ‘protests’ about THEM.
Compared to the rest of the world, we ARE that beacon.
Live with it; millions of immigrants each YEAR are willing to risk life and limb to come here to live. either they’re all insane or the rest of the world IS a trash heap, compared to here.
Including China.
It’s amazing how many of these people hate the US but simply won’t leave because they know they have it too good and couldn’t make it in the world on their own.
Totally wrong as usual.
This country has changed its policies too many times, according to whatever political wind blows through Wash. DC.
Next ad hom please.
No, that’s been US foreign policy since the Monroe Doctrine. And it got amped up with the Roosevelt Corollary.
Hell, in Teddy Roosevelt’s administration, he decided he really wanted to trade with Japan, so he decided the best way to open up trade talks was to sail a fleet of warships into Tokyo Bay!!
Because, having long ago settled the issue of the FACT Blizzard totally over-reacted AND then posted a statement that this was done not just for TOS violations but for the benefit of the host country(China), we have predictably descended into flag-waving and pseudo-socialist rhetoric.
I’m one of the flag-wavers btw.
Which one are you?
You want me to leave Puerto Rico? LOL, I was born here, my entire family was born here, I didn’t ask to be born in a US COLONY, no one asked the US to come “liberate” us either. I know that America does no wrong, America number one, AMERICA. NUMBER. ONE
Back to the thread and the topic, I said my piece and I shared my sentiments. Remember, America number one.
It really shows the hypocrisy and worthlessness of their virtue signalling:
Free Palestine! Oh, but I don’t want to live there and be beaten by a Muslim husband!
China is just being a capitalist country, and is just as bad as the US! I don’t want to live there, because I would be arrested for saying something they don’t like!
If Blizzard wants to avoid this , then they need to make a clear rule against political speech at official events. That’s not what went down.
If Blitzchung had come out in favor of the Chinese government, he wouldn’t have been punished. He wasn’t given the ban because his speech was political, he was given the ban because he backed the wrong horse.
Can we take a second to appreciate the irony of claiming equal and fair treatment under the law… by China?
You’re not wrong about Hong Kong’s future, but it would be disingenuous to pretend like it’s an easy thing to leave you home. The people who live there have done so for years, perhaps all their lives, perhaps for generations. What’s more, the people who live there largely consider themselves Chinese; they merely want more freedom that what the government is willing to offer.
There is a 0% chance that this guy could appeal anything that offended the Chinese authorities.
No one is under the impression that this isn’t a catch-all clause. The reason for the clause is apparent; that doesn’t keep it from being a stupid clause. You seem to be arguing that, “Dumb unfair rules are common, so dumb unfair rules are okay.”
Depends on what you mean.
As an official Blizzard stance? No. In common discourse? Yes.
The only protection against bad ideas are good ideas; the only true solution to bad speech is good speech.
I already said what I had to say about Hong Kong and my own island, there’s no need to continue talking about it, the thread is about Hong Kong, maybe one day we can have one about Puerto Rico and all the other US territories.
Americans that work for companies that support suppression of ANY of their Constitutional Rights, are working for their enemies, the only way to fight for your rights is to not allow others to take them from you. so “All private companies have the right to enforce whatever opinion they sees fit. Read this up if you don’t believe me.” they only have that right if you allow them to take your rights from you! What is more important your rights (and the rights of others) or your current garbage job? I refuse to work for any company that attempts to look at my private life (FB/W/E), it’s called freedom baby I have it and if you want to give yours up, feel free. . for a few seconds.
Just because you are not willing to fight for your freedoms against the corporations, doesn’t mean you should burn the ideals of those that will fight for theirs and yours as well.
A. It’s not a “nation”, it’s a parasitic terrorist state made up of Saudis, Jordanians, Egyptians, Turks, and Syrians. Muslims didn’t give a damn about that little hunk of desert until their “eternal enemies”, Hebrews, started coming back there in droves.
B. You’re supporting the “freedom” of a genocidal army of terrorists. It’s the equivalent of supporting, say, the NSDAP in eradicating smaller nations. Or the Soviets doing the same to Ukrainians. Their “goal” has never been “freedom”, it has, as said in the Hamas charter, the eradication of the Jews. I’m not going to support the blatantly genocidal lunatics over those they are constantly hurling missiles at, hoping to hit schools and hospitals.
