Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

I’m not trying to virtue signal.
I want Blizzard to change what they are doing.
I’m voting with my wallet, which is the only thing Blizzard understands right now.
You’re here to apparently do whatever the opposite of virtue signalling is?

My kids wouldn’t be better off if I hop on a plane to Hong Kong to do…something in a country where I don’t know anyone or speak the language.

No one is asking you to hop on a plane and go to HK. rather they are asking you to put your money where your mouth is… you claim “I’m voting with my wallet”, yet so far you still are supporting Blizzard by still having an active account.

As I’ve pointed out in my original post edit:

So the fact that you are replying to this thread, only goes to show that you are clearly not voting with your wallet as you say you are.

Yes, the only choices are to fly to Hong Kong, or just sit in front of your computer.

You’re lazy and won’t even unsub.

Keep doing what you’re doing though. There are a lot of people on these forums who will pat you on the back for doing nothing.

/facepalm. Canceling sub is all you have to do. If you want to do more, Contact your congress members about it. If you are in a position to support a protest even better. But totally trashing your account doesnt accomplish anything.

I do not have an active account. I have until the 19th of October when my sub runs out.

Wow. So brave to take a stand against people using a company’s official forums to voice their objection to that company’s support of a totalitarian government.

You, and the others like you, are the true heroes. Bravo, brave heroes.

No, that’s what unsubbing is–if you actually do and stay unsubbed until the issue is rectified, that is

This thread is about reactionary sensationalism. In other words, it is pathetic.

How about you try taking your own advice and delete your account, yeah?

Just reported on NPR that Apple removed an app that the protesters were using…so how many of you going to drop Apple now…“An app used by Hong Kong pro-democracy activists to crowdsource the location of protesters and police has been removed from the App Store by Apple, after Chinese state media suggested the tech giant was aiding “rioters.””

you apparently do if you’re still posting here on said account. Unsubbing isn’t the same as removing your account.

in reality unsubbing is just pretending to care, as we both know, the majority of those who say they unsubbed, don’t. they ride things out and once the forums forget and instead get angry at blizzard about something new, pretend nothing happened, or claim you’re unsubbing over the next hot topic and so on in a chain of unsub claims for each new hot button topic

I never said I’d remove my account, because that would be stupid. What incentive is there for Blizzard to change their behavior if everyone permanently writes them off and never looks back? Give someone no reason to redeem themselves, and they won’t seek redemption.

I guess when my kids aren’t doing their schoolwork, I shouldn’t just take away time playing the Switch, I should smash it on the floor to really show them I mean business.

Actually that’s a good move by Apple. if anything, you should congratulate and give Apple a pat on their back and go buy a Macbook, because it was an app to report and track the location of police officers…

Don’t you realize how dangerous that is for the safety of the police officers? Also the fact that criminals can utilize it too to know where police are.

Can you imagine if someone developed an app so users can track the location of police here in America? and the criminal elements in America have access to it as well. you’d have nutjobs ambushing police left and right, and criminals committing their crimes in areas where police presence isn’t near and make their escape when the app shows police moving in.

So you are saying that I shouldn’t just say “Death to the Living”, but I should make it happen? Look man I tried I even sided with Sylvanas, but Blizzard just keeps stopping me.

I’m dubious about that screenshot. If it’s the tweet’s owner, I suspect they are spreading misinformation to fuel the reactions of recent events. If it’s something that they came across, they may not be well versed on Battlenet account closures.

That tweet showing an account closure request being cancelled is something that can be done by the Battlenet account owner. Despite the advertisement that account closure is permanent/irreversible, the process can actually be cancelled before it’s started.

And since the screenshot shows that it was done an hour later, that’s well within the five day grace period.

Wise advice in general for everyone.

The same app, what’s up or something like that is already used in the US. It’s been speculated to have been used to target two police officers who was murdered already

The very fact that they disabled the ability to delete your account means that a LOT of people have done it. Why are you trying to accuse people of lying when they’re trying to support a good cause? What’s wrong with you?

Also, many of us are leaving room for Blizzard to do the right thing rather than washing our hands of them for life. Them continuing to store my account data can only cost them money.

Im not canceling anything. People are just a bunch of hypocrites, no one cancels or boycotts businesses in western countries no matter how many atrocities those countries commit. America is the worst country on this planet when it comes to human suffering and still these moronic liberals are all “yay murica”.

So not standing for Hong Kong as a western hub. GG blizzard for once.

tagging location of parked police vehicles (aka speed traps), accidents, congestion, traffic cameras, potholes and more over wide time update intervals, isn’t the same as that app operated with real time updates of user reports of police location info.

This is a stunning level of ignorance.

In fact you are wrong! Its down the past month.

From you yes? You obviously have no grasp on imperialism and stuff the IMF does. And the fact that America has attempted to overthrow 50+ foreign governments since the end of WW2.
