I personally feel this is a double-edged sword. I do admire everyone that is taking a stand in permanently deleting their accounts. In reality, some of those people will walk away from Blizzard and not come back. Others will just wait a few months, until either Blizzard changes their stance or until things die down, then go buy the games again. This will actually increase profit for Blizzard instead of decreasing it. At least if people just unsub and wait to see what happens, it will decrease profits. The people who do come back will just be paying subs. A sub is much less than buying the games again.

I’m not sure where “I don’t care about Hong Kong” fits into this.
I do care in that I hope that they can somehow be free from oppression. There’s also countless other people in countless other places facing terrible situations. There is a pretty hard limit on what I can accomplish from my home.
If I were the type to boycott and I saw this thread mocking me for not “proving” I plan to boycott, I would feel really insulted by someone who for the most part, shared my convictions.

News flash, get out of your home. The above statement is the epitome of skacktivism/e-activists. People who don’t want to actually do anything, just want to feeeeeeeeel like they do. So you’ll just sit on your butt doing the least you can do while feeeeeeeeling like you did, then when people are looking the other way you’ll just go back to what you’ve always done, except you’ll have an unearned sense of accomplishment.

Everyone is trying to teach some one a lesson… people that are deleting their accounts likely love this game and deleted them to prevent themselves from giving in and returning.
