Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

I’d say it’s a choice between a terrible life or a terrible death…

I would like to ask, do you think that the reason why these American allies obey to the United States? Is it because of common values, or because the United States has military bases in their countries.

Oh, “organs” again, I should not talk to a ppl who trust things like this.

We got videos mate.

Probably the latter but honestly.

Would you rather have China with it’s dictatorship in charge of the world or America with it’s admittedly corrupt/broken democracy?

At least one has the possibility of change in the future and more than one political party to resign yourself to.

I truly do believe America is better than China. If. Only slightly.

You’re mistaking ‘apolitical’ with ‘apathetic’. Apolitical means you don’t take a stance, one way or another, and you smash everyone who tries to make you take a stance equally. He broke his contract, and got punished for it in line with the terms of the contract. The casters encouraged him, and thus proved to be bad representatives for Blizzard, and got fired. Was it draconian? Of course. But if you’re draconian in your response, people are less willing to try the same thing. Giving them a slap on the wrist encourages others to do the same.

Whoop de fricken do, one of their characters is a rebellion leader. Another of their characters is a fish lady who is working with an elder god. And another is a fat panda. And another is a kill-bot. Characters in a game have zero relevance to business decisions by a company in the real world.

What they are doing is pretty clear. They had to conclude; “which side butters more of our bread?” The answer is China.

Can’t be apolitical if you introduce politics.

Sorry mate but they can’t say “We will smash all mention of politics” then start being political with their game and business design decisions.

Lmao. Only “slightly”

Could you name me some?

You can certainly have in-game politics, while still smashing mention of real-world politics. Because one is in the game, see. The fact that gnomes continue to exist instead of getting punted into the Maelstrom, or that the Light actively brainwashes space goats doesn’t reflect real world politics. The fact that there is a rebel leader in a game does not mean Blizzard automatically supports all rebel leaders.

Now, if you, say, had a game set in modern Hong Kong, using modern politics, then you’d have an argument to make. But otherwise, no, you don’t. The only thing Blizzard has done that was wrong is some virtue signalling during their marketing for some of their characters, like Soldier 76.

I’m mainly liking this because I love that song. Don’t judge me too much.

I also believe US gov treat their citizens better than China. You have a lot of reasons to love your country if you are American.

But for other countries? How many wars did US gov start in the past 40 yrs? And how many wars did China gov start?

So they’re STILL being political?

You can’t make exceptions on being apolitical to virtue signal and expect your apolitical stance to be respected.

Hey that’s why I figure people would rather be absorbed into America if China were gone than absorbed into China if America were gone.

Nope, there is a difference between getting gullible people to give them money and being political.

tell me bout Ecuador

But not all the ppl want to be American.

Imaging if there only two countries in the world, what kind of neighbour you want , USA or China.

Getting people to give you money for your political stances is political.

Blizzard has done it with soldier 76 and by banning a Hong Kong supporter.

It’s still political mate. Just give up. Politics is everywhere.

Ehhh US? China doesn’t make any moves because of the other superpowers ready to strike back.

China is notorious for starting wars in the past you know.

Have you heard a quote:

“Poor Mexico, So Far From God, So Close To The United States”

Google it.

Oh really, I need proof. This is a brand new view I’ve never heard before.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump just made a facebook post boasting about America’s troops all over the Middle East
