Blizz, Hong Kong, Freedom of speech, lets have an Adult discussion

I’m sure the recoil will push out a apology. This will be forgotten in the pits of the void of old forum threads go when they die.

If… and I say “IF” there is as much pushback over this issue as there was in May 2015, then there is a real chance you will be proved right.

So far, I’m just not seeing the passion.

What are you talking about? The protests happened you commie apologist, even the Chinese government admitted that

IT was broadcasted across the entire world when it went down

EVEN THE USSR CONDEMNED THEM

How are you able to sit there in the comfort of your first world home, enjoying western freedoms, and casually defend this kind of thing?

Also I can’t provide any exact names considering the internet didn’t exist back then, so I’d have to go to the actual Chinese archives, or the archives of the journalist groups themselves, but there were several who were shot, beaten, arrested, including journalists from Japan, France, the United States, and Britain

Michael Fathers is one journalist who survived the event, but not before being detained and beaten within an inch of his life by Chinese soldiers.

Just a sincere question. How involved and/or concerned were you in or with Chinese politics or any issue relating to same before this Hearthstone Player got himself disqualified and banned? Be honest.

Come on now, answer the question and then label me: who is the foreign jounalist that was killed in Tiananmen Square?

yes because vegan protesters and students demanding more western-style freedoms in their country being murdered by said country’s government are comparable.

If our activities are bothering you, GOOD!
Because that’s what it takes to acquire, keep and maintain FREEDOM!
You’d probably tell the Minute Men to keep it down or Lincoln to just sign a truce and get this silly old civil war over with, so you could feel comfy.

I am seeing the opposite effect here in Australia, all the vegan protesters have done by chaining themselves in abattoirs is make the Australian people vote for a conservative government that wants to criminalize that kind of behavior. If people want to go vegan, that’s their choice, but don’t try to impose your lifestyle choices on other people.

Yeah I accept that’s a different situation of course.

I’ve been concerned for years now, mostly due to Chinese censorship slowly creeping into western products.

I’ve also always despised the Chinese government and distrust them, but there’s not much I or anyone can do about what goes on in China without invading them or something

But we can hold an American company to account

When a company goes out of bounds and does something wrong the recoil from it will hurt the company as well not just the player/s at fault.

If a TOS or code of conduct was violated some punishment must be put in place. I mean people talk about politics all the time why would it be foreign when brought there?

the medium is irrelevant; gratz on this initative!

Let’s just say that I’m not surprised, but you are talking about a vegan protest. I’m not sure people felt really any urgency to it or humans rights problem with that. There’s still a big difference for me but yes protest don’t always end good… And I don’t think fighting for humans rights or better living conditions is wanting to oppress/impose a lifestyle…

But the fact is, in the reading of the “rule” which is not law btw, it says nothing about political speech, just whatever blizzard says is wrong is wrong. That is not a definition and thus a tar clause which often gets killed in a court. The player will not sue, it costs too much.

We don’t know, because China never released the death toll or the mortuary reports.

All we have is from the videos themselves and the testimony of the survivors, of whom one I already named, two others being Richard Roth and Derek Williams, you can look up their stories if you want

But I know you won’t. You’re going to claim because I couldn’t provide this one impossible piece of evidence, that obviously the massacre that was recorded on video and seen by the entire world never happened, because China is great and glorious, and everyone loves it there.

Praise Comrade Xi Jinping

The dude could have been let off with a warning. Saying that politics is not allowed? Possibly.

What is done is done. People have rights and should have rights to those rights. But again how is politics have to do with WoW or Blizzard? How is this thread going to help that banned person?

You know why I fixated on “foreign journalist”? B/c it would have been the journalists’ respective government who would have released their death, NOT the Chinese.

Plus, I’m not nor will I defend Tiananmen Square. I was simply saying what you said was a version I never heard of. And I dig that a lot.

I could even tell you what the four leaders of students are doing right now, hint: none is dead.

But hundreds of their friends and family are.

Ok I’m going to bed. Now there’s someone trying to insinuate Tiananmen Square didn’t happen

CM: “Oops people are still talking about the horrible thing we did. MERGE TIME!”

More likely he’s trolling you and doing a damn good job at it. I’d give him a solid A-
