Blizz, give the Alliance ONE THING:

Alliance: “Heck yeah, Tyrande is going to kick some Horde butt!”

Blizzard: “We are finished with the Night Elf story.”

Alliance: “Da fudge?”

Lol Blizzard has gotten really good at telling the story outside of the game.

They wont do that, they are the dev’s favorite child so they cant make them feel bad by making them feel like they were losing.

Alliance won the battlefront battles story wise yet there have been no character deaths and it was only mentioned in the qna, no big anouncement, we cant make the poor horde feel bad even in a fictional story

The reason they don’t show it is because doing that removes Horde quest zones. Which, if you played in Vanilla or want a refresher course by playing Horde in Classic, was a serious problem for the Horde leveling experience. They had less zones to level in and ended up having to grind out their last levels killing mobs.

The leveling experience works better for both sides when the story says the zone is contested rather than outright granting victory.

You know, I’d say the Alliance had a bit more of a story that made a lot more sense than what the Horde did. Everything from the opening of Kul Tiras where Jaina was punished for treason to reuniting the Kul Tiran fleet to destroy the Zandalari Fleet to even killing the Zandalari King.

I wouldn’t exactly call that having no story.

The final part of the War Campaign was shared across both Horde and Alliance with facing Sylvanas.

In Blizzcon this year they stated that Alliance win the warfronts for story purposes.

So that’s something.

So what other reason, other than protecting horde from CANON is there not to show it IN GAME?

I think they will eventually, maybe pre patch for shadowlands?, but so far we still in BFA.

But I think moving forward they’ll say so, I hope :man_shrugging:t4:

People care about the butchered story of this 15 year old game?

Sounds like something we would see in another cata

…the battle of Dazar’alor has the alliance storm into a city… kill a king (after honorably offering him to surrender first)… then escape more or less successfully with acceptable losses (and even with those losses you can’t even count the gnome leader among them as he lived in the end). The horde failed to protect their ally at the time (the Zandalari) and failed to get vengeance (killing Jaina) for them.

Hell even the quest line leading towards it has the horde falling into the alliance’s trap so they can do the battle of Dazar’alor successfully… just because blizzard didn’t show the warfront victories doesn’t mean they never show the alliance winning in game.

We don’t care.

Because BFA having a winner or loser was an incredibly stupid idea on the behalf of Blizzard and is driving away customers in droves!

You play alliance, great… they wrote a story where the Alliance is triumphant but you the player had near to nothing to do with that at all. The only thing YOU as the champion did, was pay for your subscription.

The conflict in Warcraft is about balancing players activities around a faction war that is never ending. If you take a portion of the community an call them loser, well… they quit and tell Blizzard where to go. It has already happened, many players are leaving in disgust.

That is perhaps the biggest reason BFA is a complete failure as a game. It just is not overall entertaining and the authors want to be edgy. Congratulations Blizzard on losing the attention of a large portion of your audience.

Yeah it was a victory, but it was a fruitless phyrric one. We could have set off the bombs without raiding Dazaralor. The only thing we accomplished there was trading a Horde aligned king for a Horde aligned queen. And the naval advantage it provided was lost the very first thing of the very next content patch.

The combat evaluation after that? “Enough for one final assault. After that: we’re finished.” That assault was with Horde rebel cooperation to boot.

This is yet another Alliance perpetual victim mentality circle jerk thread

Just let them exhaust themselves in this one thread vs 10 others, they’re not posting in here to have a reasonable debate they’re posting in here to complain

I’m mostly on the side of “okay, we’re finally done with this, can we please just kill Sylvanas now without starting wars for no sane reason? There’s no way we have the forces for this indefinitely and the Horde keeps blowing up cities to be edgy Which is why we can’t have nice things.”

Blizzards opinion of storylines “if you want good writing the horde is waiting for you”

Buddy, if you want the story focus for a while, you can have it.

Let’s see how you like a sharp left turn into a civil war storyline culminating in a siege of your main capital until your faction leader is deposed. And then afterward you get to do it all over again.

If that’s the “good writing” you want, it’s all yours!
