Blizz employees are hugging and crying in the parking lot right now

I just read Activision Blizzard has shed more than half its value in 4 months. This is getting scary! I hope they turn this trend around.

The haters would take enjoyment from much worse because Blizzard sold virtual mounts without their personal permission.

To be fair, BfA had a very pronounced marketing presence and hyped itself up immeasurably, that with a very lengthy pre-order duration it’s no surprise it “sold well day one”, since Day One Sales include pre-sales.

Not to mention they lied about many key features, included Allied Races, Class reworks for Shadow Priests and Shaman, and dropping us into the Azerite System which was the biggest slap in the face after Legion.

As much as I’m sad for the employees, Blizzard themselves are to blame with the lack of customer consideration and ego-padding they’ve been doing for the past few years.

You do realize, this has nothing to do with the layoffs right?

HotS is dead, hearthstone is being heavily pressured by the glut of other trading card games (and now Magic:Arena), and Overwatch has been crushed by PUBG, Fortnight, and now Apex.

Blizzard has been trend chasing for too long and needs to step up as a trend setter.

Has nothing to do with BFA nice try sir but no.

Poor income stems from poor products.

Sad to hear about this… But not unexpected… What makes this doubly hard is most of the executives who made the bad decisions that lead to these layoffs have left the company leaving those remaining holding the bag… I hope the rest of the gaming community well hire those affected…

OK?

But since we can’t do anything about the lay offs, let’s just sit back and think about how high we were during Legion, and how far we’ve fallen.

Shocking that you care so little about your fellow human beings. :crying_cat_face:

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 sold a record number but that didn’t make the real customers happy aka “The Investors”;

Sale Units / Preorders may be high, doesn’t guarantee everything will turn out alright.

I think that ‘lied’ means the they didn’t read before they bought thing.

Well, a couple things here.

  1. The layoffs aren’t blizzard focussed layoffs, they are activision-blizzard layoffs.
  2. If there are bad products they are more than likely not WoW. HotS esports had such a small draw they were scrapped, and hearthstone has been under performing in the face of a flooded market.

What are you even talking about? You aren’t making any sense.

BFA is actually really fun in terms of the PVP aspect. Warfront not included because that is PVE.

However, the gearing system still needs some fixing because RNG is not working and all it does is disappoint players. There is still a lack of community and guilds are still meaningless.

Anyways, I’m sure it’s not WoW that is the problem. A business will have financial problems regardless of how well they may be doing in the eyes of the players. Blizzard is one big umbrella that houses multiple games and when some of the games are not doing well, it will affect the business overall.

You are missing the second part of I said. BfA sales exceeded expectations to such a point that it offset the decrease from the other properties to the point where Blizzard still exceeded quarterly expectations.

It is just a job - I am sure most of them will get others. In fact, a lot of them will probably find themselves better off.

This is kind of why I hate current culture. Leave the people be that are dealing with a rough time today. You don’t need to post about it while it is happening like a vulture waiting for a meal.

I really thought this a a troll post, but that guy… does have some credit ability behind.

I hope those affected can find a job really soon.

To say WoW has zero influence on company income is foolish. It is without a doubt the most expensive product that they maintain, and they are losing money. If WoW has been drawing in less money every year, but the expenses have only gone up.

Really think people should have more compassion and empathy. You have no idea if the people who will lose their job aren’t going to be suffering because of it. It’s more likely it will be a hardship than no big deal.
