Blizz employees are hugging and crying in the parking lot right now

Don’t worry guys, the people who make cash shop mounts are still there

That sucks, but it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone in Irvine.

The short-notice shuttering of the Heart of the Storm esports league in December, parting ways with Bungie in January (and the investors wanting to sue Activision over it), the reshuffling and unplanned departures of executives that same month, and it’s clear that all was not well in Kotickland.

Yep, $1.25 mill cash and the rest in stock, Comes from somewhere or did Act/Blizz just print cash up when they need it?

How much different is the 415 from 385. You will find it’s less than what the difference is at someone getting better at their character. If you are min maxing this will always exist (stat weights, etc.). Only way to solve is to have every piece of gear have the same stats… there will always be a BiS. Ilvl is a general rule for those that don’t min max to help them. It’s a guide.

So what you are saying is…when you made this statement

You were wrong. because there is not a 15 million dollar bonus. The stocks are not money. They are stocks. And they are incentives the guy must reach. Not automatically awarded.

Thanks for clearing up that you were deliberately spreading misinformation.

You think I am talking about the canceled e-sports and not the cut development?

Maybe actually read about the number of people playing the beta for Apex and the reviews while you are googling it.

Lucky your here on the defence of corporate greed and trying to justify it.

I am not trying to justify anything. I am merely pointing out that facts > lies.

If you want to get mad, get mad at the facts. If you are going to spread a lie, why stop at 15 million dollar bonus? Why not say 80 million dollar bonus? Both are wrong. And the second one you can stir up so much more anger!

It’s a pretty bad feeling. The last company I worked for did voluntary buyouts once and layoffs 4 times in the time I worked there. I didn’t get laid off but I remember sitting there in traffic with this sinking feeling it could happen.

Entire departments disappeared, people got walked out by their managers who got laid off right after.

And the company I work for now did layoffs right before I started. 40+ year old company and that was the first time they ever did layoffs. Kinda scary.

I honestly don’t know, your comment on “HoTs is dead” is vague. How is it dead exactly? nobody is playing it? it’s unavailable to play or are you talking about Esports? I would like to know the details.

A wise man told me that you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, and that is true.

A wise man also told me to never forget Dungeon Keeper mobile and EA’s Battlefront 2.

To quote myself from earlier who really said it at best…

Yeah the “peons”

I can still hope!!!

For the sake of my job, please don’t ever apply at my company.

When a game developer says that the game doesn’t meat the standards and quality they expect, cancel their competitive scene (as you pointed out), and move developers off of it, in the video game vernacular it is dead.

It is funny you say that because you are actually judging it by its cover. The game is amazing atm.

Oh yes it does… when “a lot of decision now are being driven by business folks, marketing and finance folks. There’s a real struggle now between developers and the business people… strategic decision are being driven by the finance group.”

Blizzard has always stated “gameplay first”, yet what was delivered was a copy/paste of the legion system. It was cheap to do so. Players aren’t stupid. Players aren’t ignorant. WoW has seen a MASS falling out with its player base.

WoW was and still is a large portion of Activisions income (they’re not Blizz anymore if you haven’t figured that out… perhaps it says Blizz… but it’s not Blizz anymore)

Metzen is gone and the lifestyle he brought to the company left with him. Now it’s being driven by people who make 20+ million dollars a year, and those of us watching the little guy struggle within Activision just makes me HATE them even more.

They ruined a cornerstone franchise. They were once hailed as the BEST game developers in the world. Now - a bunch of money hungry pigs that copy paste their own games, don’t invent anything interesting or FUN (remember, you’re having fun the wrong way people!!!).

I’ll be the first to say tonights investor call is going to suck. Good. This has to happen when a company and their product is NOT up to par and everyone BUT ION HAZ. can see that!

Luckily I pulled all my stock weeks ago when they did have a small almost un-noticed rise in prices. Now its tanked. It’s going to tank even further tonight unless their EPS turns in somewhat of a miracle.

They were laid off cause Destiny went back to Bungie so it is a waste of money for Blizzard to keep them. Layoffs are common.

So correct me if i’m wrong, but in other words, if official support is pulled but the game is still available to play, it’s a dead game?

I noticed you skipped over my second comment which tells how pretty darn skeptical i am at the company and it’s recent history of shenanigans. In case you missed it, i’l quote myself again.

And, yes, i did judge a book by it’s cover, but if the author is EA …

People abuse the report system as a way of down voting something.

Nope the layoffs have nothing to do with blizzard themselfs. And even less about BFA as well.

Hey Tazz glad to see you again…

Warcraft/StarCraft = Blizzard creating the RTS genre??? Eh Dune 2 says hello… 2 years older than Orcs & Humans… But i agree. Blizz dont lead the development atm…
