Blizz employees are hugging and crying in the parking lot right now

Yes, when this happens it is know as a “dead game”. You are arguing about the vernacular instead of what actually happened to it, so moving on.

So YOU are judging the game by the company instead on the game itself and point out two games out of hundreds that EA released… Moving on to actual conversation instead of meme parrots.

You all act like this doesn’t happen all the time in every industry no matter what product they produce! If a corporation can save a nickle getting rid of your job while still making the same amount of profits. YOU WILL BE OUT OF A JOB! This has been going since before we were born. And in the gaming industry layoffs are a dime a dozen. You just have Twitter, Facebook, and other crap to feed you the up to date info about this now. Were as 10 years ago when the same thing happens you would have to look harder for the info. Now it pops up on your Twitter feeds. So with very little effort you can come here and act like you give a damn! And deep down know you don’t.

No job is permanent! You can get canned anytime for any reason. A factory right up the road from where I work laid off 400 of their workers. And the only notice they got was chained up doors with a note taped to them. That’s not uncommon! It happens all over the world, all the time! This isn’t a new thing.

BFA is not awful. It’s just considerably less than what we have come to expect.

Every time blizzard come out with a expansion, the consumers expect changes and/or improvements. Sometimes these changes are missteps and sales dip. BFA is one of those expansions. The product is okay, but they need to stop ability pruning, bring back gear vendors, separate PvP and PvE gear, get rid of Warmode, and bring back PvP servers.

Azerite gear is okay, but it pales when compared to the Legion Weapons. They were fun. Azerite…not so much. If Azerite preceded the Legion Weapons, it might have been better. As it stands, Azerite feels like a regression.

It is the sign of the Times. GM is laying off thousands. Another Big Corp will most likely follow suit. Downsizing has always been around . It’s the way things are. No job is actually secure.

Retention is an important detail in MMOs. You can’t just say “Day one sales were good, therefore everything is fine.” That’s a very short-sighted way of looking at it.

I hope the people who get canned enjoy what they deserve for not refusing to “just be a cog” in a machine that was obviously off-track. I would have left activision long ago.

You are a lovely ray of sunshine.

You can work for government…but then the pay is absolute crap.

Thing is you are being “judged” for being judgmental about people you don’t know.

So, empathy is something that should be reserved only for those who have suffered more than me?
If I should see a child crying because they have the flu I should just say “shut up, do you know how many weeks I had to spend in the ICU"? When someone I know has a parent pass away, I can tell them “give me a break crybaby, you have no idea how many relatives I’ve lost”?

And yes unemployment is much lower than the last time I had to look for a job, and you apparently know what their severance is (whereas I have no idea) and no you aren’t under any obligation to express sympathy, but you also had no reason to post about your lack of empathy for a distressing situation amongst strangers.

This company is a lovely ray of sunshine and definitely NOT just the only option on the market that meets my needs.

Imagine loving tennis, being really good at it, and having tons of people to play, just for all of them to move away and then having to be fine playing with the retarded adult because no one else even exists any more. That is wow for me.

Why are people flagging the OP? It’s the worst kind of virtue signalling.

My heart goes out to the employees and their families.

And risk the Government will not shut down and mess with peoples lively hood

Ok. So go play a game that meets your needs. Rather than be happy people that most likely had nothing to do with the state of the game are being laid off and losing their job.

Look at how people on these forums treat them and you’ll realize why they hardly ever post

Nothing of value was lost. Company continued to ignore its fanbase and consumers and now you reap what you sow

This is what happens when you quit caring about the product and start milking the profit. Same thing with Twitch and Amazon. It’s a shame and hopefully they realize the downward spiral soon.

DNE.

I’d be happy that the soldiers “just following orders” of a certain timeframe in a certain European country had bad things happen to them as well. Doesn’t matter if they’re responsible for the main direction. They were enabling by being a part.

If these people knew what the company was doing, and stayed just because “it’s too hard to quit and find another job, so I’ll accept their practices” they deserve it. If they were entirely ignorant to it because of reasons, they still deserve it for being ignorant.

Independantly wealthy?
