EotS had two bots. Both blood DK’s with <2.5k GS.

If anyone else notices specifics about the DK bots, I would greatly appreciate you replying with that information. I’m going to do more BG’s tonight to see if there’s gear/talents/abilities that may help identify them.

And they’ll continue to do nothing if we don’t come together and force them to. The diligence of Windroot makes me believe that he must be paid by blizzard to necro all of these posts. He shows a pattern in his post history and follows set times. Why else would someone waste so much time to hinder legitimate posts from gaining traction? What could they possibly be gaining from this behavior?

Explain how it’s a dumb statement? Do you not know how inputs and outputs work? Are you saying it’s difficult to see patterns in inputs? Are you saying that Blizz hasn’t had enough time to implement something so difficult? Bots aren’t using unique movements and rotations. It’s the same movements following a preset pattern. If a toon executes the same rotations over and over with robotic precision than why can’t they pinpoint that?

Do you think bot developers just sit around doing nothing for years on end after developing their bots? The moment Blizzard implements a change to their detection systems, it triggers a tripwire built into the bot that immediately disconnects every user and sends out notifications to customers. It’s an arms race and if you do a little bit of detective work, you’ll find the forums these bot devs frequent and you’ll come to understand that they’re in an arms race with Blizzard.
Why do you think there hasn’t been a single profitable MMO out there that has defeated botting? Do you really think it’s as simple as your surface level understanding of the situation makes you believe?
The best method to eliminating bots is manual detection. It’s also the method that leads to the largest number of innocent players being banned and the method that leaves players with no chance to appeal, because the evidence is a GMs subjective take on what he was seeing with his eyes. Fishing with your UI turned off while listening to music? (something I did a lot in Classic) Enjoy your permanent ban because you didn’t answer the GM because you didn’t see his messages.

All of this. And it’s not even just MMO’s. Bots are a huge problem for other companies too, even ones with more resources and absolutely no reason to allow them. Spotify has been plagued with them for YEARS for example
Try to pick an herb in Sholazar lately? Place is lousy with them. I’ve reported scores and I still them riding around gathering everything in sight. I assume bots are part of Blizz’s business model at this point. Ruined the game.

Indeed! Last nights wsg had 7 actual players the rest were very obvious dk bots. I recorded it and ill post a video but ive done this before and still no action was taken against them.

They don’t care. It feels bad to admit it, because we all obviously love this game, but they don’t give a flying-f that these things are fueling real money gear purchases and trashing battlegrounds.
They’ll never care until people quit, but none of us ever do.
