yeah I agree, couldn’t they simplify it a little bit? Prune the tree, cut the saplings, trim the vines?

no. Different cities use different forms of currency for different goods. Deal with it!

Thats the point, why should we just deal with it?

Okay, then don’t buy stuff. Be the change you want to see in the world.

Indeed, as such I will not buy any thing that changes me into a clown

Fair enough!

Do currencies really cause a problem these days? They aren’t in the character’s inventory and you don’t have to collect the ones you’re not interested in.

As to why so many? Its because people play at difference levels and gathering currencies are the best way to limit rewards over time. The game is still an MMO and getting people to play more is its top goal.

i’ve mentioned this in other threads. I feel like once an expansion is ended, and the next one has launched anything that was an outdated currency used for something else should automatically be turned into time, walking badges, and the vendors who are selling the items for said currency should also be converted to time walking badges. We are always gonna have those badges and all of this content is gonna be legacy anyway. this would get all of the unnecessary currency out-of-the-way and make for one useful legacy currency.

What do you want, to walk up to delve chests and insert 2000 gold to open them instead? Different currencies serve different purpose, and if you haven’t noticed already it’s very common to receive multiple currencies for doing something.

Kej/resonants/undercoin are the only currencies that make any sense at all to combine because they’re mostly for cosmetics.

Valorstones are the mechanism for making certain upgrade slots cost different amounts so removing them would mean items cost different amounts of crests to upgrade. Soft-brains already struggle enough with upgrading even though getting the type they need is as simple as ‘if the content is sorta difficult then it will reward the right crests.’

Why not. It’s not like they take up bag space anymore.

In some cases they have to be different, because some content needs internalized currency that doesn’t spill over into other content, as that would impact progression in that content.

In other cases you’re right, Kej is redundant.

A while back a coworker told me that, in one of the games he plays , the currency can be upgraded to the next expansions currency. I would love to see that in WOW. Maybe set up a Goblin Exchange Commission in the major cities and, for a small nominal fee of course, let players convert currency from previous expansions to the currency of the next expansions. For me, the games inside the game of WOW have always been enjoyable !!

OP you’re wrong. There’s just no way the currency system could be better. No way at all. Zero. Zilch. Nada. None.

The game is perfect dang it. Blizzard is perfect. I am not a paid actor.

Remember when people complained there were too many currencies, so Blizzard changed things to use the “universal currency: gold” for an expansion?

And people hated it and complained nonstop?

I don’t even remember which expansion that was. Many years ago.

I’m happy to see this. The amount of currency is absolutely insane. I just see what it’s my currency tab, sigh at it, and hardly do anything. Not sure why but seeing it all just makes the game feel like work to me…instead of…ya know, a game. :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:

Because the longer an MMO gets into its lifespan, in order to avoid rewards being instantaneously gained using prior currencies, new currencies need to be invented so that there is a curve of acquisition.

I think its excessive too but honestly, only two of them matter - runes and valorstones. Just ignore the rest, youll be fine.

Players have cried for years for more content, so now you have it, and I agree it is a bit overwhelming.
