So… my priest has gone from 1640 to 1503… yes… I have lost quite a bit, however the last couple wins did not give me any rating & yet I loose 15-30 rating. What gives?
If you lost quite a few games and your MMR is below your CR, you’re likely not going to gain much if any rating. You gain rating when your MMR is higher than your CR. The larger the gap between your MMR and CR, the larger your gain or loss will be, though total gains and losses on CR do have a cap.
Just have to win a couple in a row and you’ll be back to earning rating. Assuming you don’t get very unlucky with your queues.
I guess now the trouble is actually winning them with half the team throwing the game
Yep. Unfortunately you might be in for a ride. There is something weird about how losses AND wins can string together.
Happened on my boomkin. Could not buy a win to start and quickly fell to 900 mmr range. About 25 games later I was 2800+ mmr. Went from losing everything to winning everything. This has happened to me multiple times of having 9-10+ wins in a row to also having 9-10+ losses in a row. Seems extremely improbable and yet it’s happened many times.
So I think there is some mechanism in how it’s building groups. Maybe even pairing people who recently lost with other players who lost…? Maybe it is just dumb luck, but the best way to ‘fix’ this is just to keep playing. Sounds silly I realize, but I think lots of players give up when they hit the bottom instead of just queueing up.
GL!
1748 to 1550 rank,
MMR 1450, win 0 pints and lost 21 in all bgb.
im dps, 20 min QQ, for lost 21 points or win 0
Blzz need fixed rank
Your rating doesnt matter, just your mmr.
i win 1, 0 points,
next bg, 2 people leave., lost 20 again, imposible,
Blizz need fix this, and mitigate lost when you have an afk.
Weird how Blitz has the same cringe rating issues as shuffle but even worse… who could have ever predicted this?
It is almost like random ranked pvp… will never work properly and is only there to give dps a queue button to press instead of a group finder window to get declined in?
It’s just flag maps for me. Seems like every CTF I get I’m the default flag runner, and the enemy team has Pres or MW, a DK (or two), and a Rogue. So if my team isn’t full of Chads who vastly out damage the enemy team and peel heavy we just lose due to comp difference.
So my rating generally depends on how many non-CTF maps I get a night.
I was healing some 1800-1900 mmr 2s with friends on my 600il healer but they have not been on so I decided to try Blitz out on my Priest since I still need the mage tower weapon recolor and my friends have not been on for 2s/3s.
Unfortunately, that goal has been shadowrealmed and will have to wait until a new season to try for a better start. It is unfortunate, I had more healing than both enemy healers combined in a lot of the matches yet still after each game “gg no healers”.
I really do not see the point in Blitz when you can have your experience ruined from the very start by bad luck.
Even if my goal was just to get to 1800 or 2100, something people say is “far easier” in Blitz, I would still be better off doing 2s or 3s after what my first experience in Blitz felt like as a healer. Even moreso now that I am not 600il, rating in 2s would feel “free” in comparison to the nightmare of Blitz.
Might as well be at this point.
I have much less experience in shuffle vs healer but from what little I did of dps shuffle it was infinitely easier, less miserable, and less stressful than trying to heal.
You can go into shuffle as dps not knowing anything really and still have a decent time, but if you try to do that on a healer you are just going to get rolled and smoked.
Blitz on healer is the same thing, you just get pestered all match by cc/slows, no one helps you, then you take all the blame.
I feel like the skill floor or required skillsets to play healers at an “entry level” in pvp are too much higher than they are to play dps at an “entry level” and still function. I am not really sure how a completely new player is expected to get into pvp healing with 0 experience atm, seems like a nightmare.
This does not mean I think low CR healers are “pvp gods being held back” but I do think there is a clear discrepancy at lower ratings where dps can get away with being complete monkeys but healers can not.
Healing is just a scape goat role for bad players to blame their losses on, I wouldn’t worry about it. I was FCing the other night on a Twin Peaks map and people started complaining that healer’s top heals were on themselves. lol Like, almost 100% of the time that’s going to be the case, we’re the only people who are always in range of us, and next to FCs we’re the most targeted people on the map.
My best advice is to just shrug it off and treat them like Random BGs that have the potential for giving rating. I know a guy that fell from 2394cr down to 1600, then ended last season at 2900cr–it’s truly just a matter of queuing enough and letting Math eventually dictate your climb.
The problem is that it is not worth the time it would take to fix a bad loss streak at the start of your seasonal Blitz career. Even then, its pretty random if you even get to fix it or not in a “reasonable” amount of matches.
If I can heal 1900mmr 2s with 600il then I definitely should not be 600MMR in Blitz just because of a “unlucky bad start”. That does not mean I think I deserve free 1800 in Blitz, it does not mean I think I deserve to be 5k rating in shuffle or 2s, but it does mean I think Blitz is no longer worth participating in this season on that character.
The time investment it would require to “overcome” Blizzards tragically random and miserable system is just not worth it when I could go play 2s or 3s with friends instead and not feel like shooting my pc with a Howitzer.
Alsooo, they are kind of just miserable to heal, even moreso than shuffle and I already refuse to heal shuffle so what is the point. Blizzard really needs to find a way to do something to make soloq content “tolerable” for the majority of people that are willing to even touch the healing role in the first place.
I really do think that dps and healers in solo queue pvp content should have completely separate systems for rating and rewards. That does not mean “separate bracket/ladders” like what shuffle has, it means entirely tailor-made systems for each role. The two roles function so differently that when you are not rated “as a team” like in 2s/3s it just does not make sense for rating on dps and healer to scale the same way.
Blitz is dookie. You wait 20 minutes just to find out you have 2 people in pve armor on your team and a third person who doesn’t even plan on trying/playing. Lose 3 in a row and your toon will forever be trapped in the this Hell. Absolute dog water.
It is not for the fainthearted
It’s the game mode I’d most recommend for a “faint hearted” person. Boring. Little action. Uneventful. You’ll be lucky if you have more than one fight on a node map lmao.
