You’re conflating two separate things right now, and it is remotely annoying since it’s a real basic thing I’m talking about.
Blaster master was a strong azerite choice because of how high your ignite would stack. Ignite is based off of any damage you deal with your spells, Xaryu talks about this in his guide on youtube.
What Xaryu forgets to mention when he says, “LOOK AT ALL THAT BURST/IGNITE DAMAGE” is the thing he said 5 minutes ago, “crits are devalued in arena.”

On an even further side note, don’t use Xaryu as a source to me ever again, the guy says, “Controlled burn is good because your ignite won’t spread and break your cc since it doesn’t jump”.
