Big picture though, like any judicial system: it will paint a significantly larger group of people who deserve to be blacklisted, versus those who didnt. Cant tell you how many dungeon runs, MS>OS raids and GDKP raids can be avoided, when using a blacklist to avoid ninjas, scammers, and toxic playes.
If blacklists hurt you as an innocent, you are a small minority. If blacklists hurt you as someone who actually committed an offense, well thats the inconvenience of committing such behavior.
The good definitely outweighs the bad, and most active servers require screenshots, chat logs, raid logs, or other tangible evidence before sticking someone on the list.
I can’t wait till this addon is removed from curse. It’s toxic for the community and commits too many acts against the TOS. Also it promotes on-going harassment. This isn’t the first blacklist addon to get removed from curse. What are you going to do when all you blacklist supporters get proven wrong by the people put on their? Regardless if you been put on their for ninja or not. This addon has no right to spam your character name in chat to those who use the addon with the sole intent of disrupting your gameplay. Let people play the game. To all the mods out there acting like blizzard admins. Go actually apply for a job at blizzard if you feel like blizzard themselves aren’t doing their jobs. If you feel like someone has ninja’d something from you. Just open a ticket instead and most of the time you’ll get what you want back from blizzard themselves. Especially if someone stated loot rules in chat beforehand.
seems like you are confused by how it works, random users can’t add people to it, only the guy who owns it can and he won’t add you unless there’s proof you did something you shouldn’t have
“You could be removed from various groups and not know why”
the addon literally says “Jeynar is on the blacklist; reason ninjaing; here’s a link to the discord where the evidence is”
you couldn’t possibly be more wrong, the use of witch hunting is wrong too, witch hunts are deliberate actions made against known people who have controversial opinions like “build the wall” or whatever else to try to discredit them or silence them, there’s no witch hunt against these random guys who ninja items at the end of dungeons, no one knows who they are
People shouldn’t have to invite or play with other they don’t want to. What are you gonna do if they are coordinating outside the game with a list (Notepad, Discord list, so on…)?
Thanks for pointing out the on going harassment issue with the addon. If the person added to the list doesn’t want to participate in the addon. They should be allowed to be taken off without any questions what so ever. The admin has no right to put people there in the first place regardless if they ninjaed anything or not. Imagine if it was the same thing with the forums. Your thread would be closed instantly, but instead you have these private discords that enable this and all it does is create an even more toxic environment.
You’re absolutely right, but it’s another step in the right direction. These addons keep getting taken down for a reason and you can’t blame anyone but the community itself for abusing the privilege.
“if the person added to the list doesn’t want to participate they should be removed” is an unhinged request for an addon that marks players for bad behaviour, none of the people on it want to participate, that’s kind of the point
So you encourage harassing players who don’t wish to participate in the list. You’re no better than the ninja themselves. You support toxic behavior and wonder why the community is full of toxic players. The self fulfilling prophecy just keeps on fulfilling itself.
If you want it to stop. Let blizzard do their job and stop worrying about who’s a ninja and who’s not a ninja.
any more fictional literature you’d like to add to the conversation? where did i say anything about supporting harassing players? Really from the state of this thread, it seems you didn’t learn anything from your 1 year in time out, enjoy your list friend
Shows how much you don’t know me as a player when I start posting on an infamous alt.
Yes I also care to add more. If you continue to reward toxic behavior with more toxic behavior. Don’t expect it to get any better. It’s just going to continue to manifest itself into more toxic behavior. You might as well dump gasoline on a fire and yell how you’re trying to put it out.
You were never on my side and it’s okay if you think I deserve to be on the blacklist. I’m already on a different server where I don’t have to worry about it anymore. So thanks.
Good job at trying to compare the judicial system to a community made “judicial system” with numerous flaws. Stay mad about it and let my comment roam rent free in your head.
Like I said, this is an alt that I don’t play anymore. We’re on the same server now. We could be potentially playing together and you wouldn’t know, but it’s okay. I’ll treat you with respect in-game because I’m not the person you think I am. Thanks for letting know how much of a biased player you also are.
Also, we did a dungeon together and you were nice to me and thanked me for coming and we even hugged each other.
Stop the cap bro. We did an H++ together. We even chatted in party, you told me “thanks for coming”, hugged each other, and we left. You were nice to me. What made you change your opinion about me?
Where was that “bear ninja” energy at for me then? Exactly! Now you know what I mean by how toxic the addon is and how the addon itself doesn’t do the community any justice. Don’t try to run from the fact that you partied up with a “ninja” and you enjoyed your time with a “ninja” and guess what! Nothing got ninja’d! You feel like a new man now don’t you?
