Indeed tbh and I know it might make some people sad to say this but I think that originally they were not planning to give us any pass for 9.1.5 but saw the outcry and that made them realize that ear size will simply just not cut it…
Indeed, this is what I’m expecting.
Perhaps. I do think their current situation (the lawsuit, ppl unsubbing, etc.) has a lot to do with these recent changes as well.
Cause it’s not only Helf stuff we’re talking about - they actually pulled the rip cord. I wasn’t expecting that.
Well the upcoming customization will certainly be a breath of fresh air away from all those dark blues and purples but yea like you said it has been High elf centered so far and if, as I’m hoping, there’s an expac upcoming with a big Void theme we might get a nice void centered pass then along with hairstyles and tattoos etc
I’m betting its gonna be light themed. But that isn’t a doom and gloom prediction for Void Elves.
Any expansion be it Light or Void will likely include us. the players on the board being who they are will almost have to have us involved in either case.
Hopefully I’ll have my thread updated before that happens… need to stop dragging my feet.
Quite frankly though, I was disappointed Void Elves were basically no where to be seen when the N’zoth patch was released. Like, we only appeared in N’zoth’s visions, but their expertise, knowledge and experience weren’t leveraged at all for the whole patch, not even for the last raid (?).
Indeed. I believe there will be more coming, and not just for the High Elf side, but also fort he Void Elf side for the Void Elves, and same goes for the Blood Elves too, and every other race.
8.3 was rushed. They dropped all of what should have been. Guarantee it.
We were meant to play a larger role and N’zoth was meant to be much bigger scale.
Hmm I wonder if it’s got anything to do with the whole Ion ‘‘the Horde is right there waiting for you’’
While we’re on the topic of new options… why are there no tattoo options for Kul Tirans and only like 4 hairstlyes? We’re a NAVAL people and tattoos have a long history in maritime culture. Give us the friggin tattoo options
I think people on both sides take this quote wrong.
He’s not trying to dig at high elf fans and he’s not saying no.
He was saying they didn’t have any plans to add them at that time.
He meant if you absolutely need to play that it was available on the Horde.
Ions just bad at talking.
I take it you mean normal tattoos? Like the ones we have in RL?
Those should be a thing for all races imo. Night Elves could have Henna-like tattoos too.
Nah sorry I don’t buy that lol - you could sense the irony and the mockery in his voice when he said it, and the phrase ‘‘right there waiting for you’’ implies that he thought people as silly and over-entitled for not switching their faction to play a blonde faired elf, as if the sole reason you should ever switch faction is to be able to play a single race
Somewhat, there’s a post on Reddit with concepts using different themes, the squid looks, the four houses of Kul Tiras and then some basic nautical things ones that looked fantastic. Tattoos and piercings really should be available to all races. I do say they need to match the basic theme of the race, but KT’s are perfect for traditional style ink.
Indeed. Some tattoos could be universal (like skulls or whatever), but there should definitely be race-specific tattoos.
Also, 90% of hairstyles should be universal across all races. No one will ever change my mind on that.
Yeah it just offers more options to everyone in general, but new and unique stuff are always welcomed !
Nah. He’s not wrong…
The first one was, “We’re gonna give you skin colors while we’re doing the main races customizations.”
You could maybe consider this the customization pass because it adds ear length and tentacle toggles.
But both times it’s sort of been ,“Here are a couple of things while we do other races customizations.”
It’s never been like, “We’re gonna add some options that make sense for this race.”
Hmm…
I don’t know. The Blood Elves are supposed to have some wild hairstyles to set them apart. Granted that information is from the pen and paper roleplaying game, but I think they say it behind the scenes as well.
But I think some universal hairstyles is a good idea… But sometimes the anatomy of the race may prevent it? Like Worgen/Tauren/Pandaren probably can’t use the same hairstyles everyone else gets.
Yeah, the real issue is it started a trolling situation that wasn’t really rectified. You’re not wrong. He did say there were no plans, “At this time.” before he shoved his whole leg in his mouth.
I think he was probably frustrated… Despite what we say about Void Elves being this half assed idea… That half assed idea probably took a lot of development time…
They had to pitch it, do concept art, build a story. Build an origin quest for these guys. So they’d already gone hard on this idea…
and the community really, really didn’t like it.
The other thing is, he had a chat before that one, probably three months before it, where he’d also been really dismissive of high elves in chat to lay the ground work and there was no reaction. So I get the feeling that the massive negative reaction was probably unexpected. But I think just no one watched that thing.
Respectfully I disagree.
They might be relatively few additions but they allowed an entire subrace.
These are not paltry additions. Their impact is felt.
Nightborne got an earring on the first pass.
Had that been our first run I’d agree but it wasn’t.
You’re right about the real problem that came of it.
And also about his leg down his throat…
To be fair, other than hairstyles and Alleria tattoos most of the requests at this point are things like glyphs or race name or entropic embrace and Paladins which aren’t as much a customization issue.
Hopefully the game recovers enough for it to matter. Or the Alliance for that matter. Got the High Elves but the ques aren’t lookin’ great.
Also to be fair to you, Spook’dorei stuff.
Though I feel like Spook’dorei are more like… Dark Rangers and San’layn.
Void Elves more C’thulu’dorei.
