I am having this same problem except I can get out of full screen and my Mac is working fine in the background but all the rest is the same. Black screen with audio.

I play in windowed mode, and this is what I have, too. Just the music and black screen.

Same problem here. Everything was fine before the patch.
Mac OS is up to date, windowed mode ect. Can’t play

Is this an intel chip problem?
Same for me. And since I’m not Steve Jobs I can’t do all the programming wizardry they suggested in the other thread.

Same here. My WoW folder doesn’t even have the file we’re supposed to edit lol

Do COMMAND + M this will toggle ur Mac from Full to window and the other way around.
Note that this will not solve the black screen problem but allow you to retake control of ur Mac at the elast

Same issue. Black screen with audio only. In “windowed” mode get small black screen with audio only. My computer is a 2019 iMac with 3.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and Radeon Pro 575X 4 GB Graphics processor. Game played fine until update.

Same here. My WoW game window / screen is completely black but the Battle.net app is working just fine.

Aranton, mine just worked. According to the other thread about this, try this:
Go to your WoW folder. Open: Retail > WTF > Config.wtf (Right click it then open it with Text Edit).
Scroll to the very bottom of all that code and type in or even copy and paste this line:
SET GxCompatOptionalGpuFeatures “0”
…
Now close that Text Edit file and go open WoW, see if that works (it worked for me).
I know it might be a little annoying but it worked for me. See how it goes.

I just tried that fix, and it got me past the black screen issue, but the game still wouldn’t load. It got all the way to the end of the loading progress bar, and then just stopped. insert expletive here

As someone who’s generally afraid to even touch the code on my computer, thank you so so so much for this simple and clear walkthrough. Cannot tell you how frustrated I was getting trying to figure out how to fix this issue.
