Black Lotus Solution

sounds like you dont know even know how black lotus spawns

sounds like you dont know even know how black lotus spawns

Servers go down, trolls come out?

Shouldnā€™t you be on the retail forums?

sigh

then there would be surplus of herbs causing a price drop. win win win win

They should just remove black lotus from the game. Problem solved.

1 hour timer btw LOL

i switch characters just for you princess  ive picked over 70 black lotus. a little tip for youā€¦ its a 45 min spawn not 1 hour. and its a window spawn (meaning it can spawn anywhere in that 30 minute time). maybe this helps

No matter what change you make to the rules, players will adapt to those changes. The people that care the most work the hardest to figure out the game mechanics, and use that as part of their strategy. No matter what that strategy is. Those darn multi-boxing botting ethnic gold farming 24/7 farmaholics will out-farm Casual Larry from Cleveland every time! Blizzard canā€™t change that.

MMO players donā€™t pretend the game is the real world. MMO players figure out the rules, the limits, the strategies, the hot-spots, the tricks, the times, everything. Then they use that information. In a few cases it is an exploit. Usually itā€™s fine and is called ā€œstrategyā€.

If you think heā€™s lying about picking 200 youre more clueless than you realize and that should be the first problem you focus on fixing brotha.
I wish I read the rest of your comment because figuring out that server transfers donā€™t even allow the possibility of this theory. You put so much effort into coming up with a black lotus mutli server multi faction Ponzi scheme that isnt even possibleā€¦ why didnā€™t you just put a tenth of that effort into googling if you can even transfer with the amount of gold required to even lay down the ground work for a multi server market takeover strategy you think youre coming up with for the first time.

Yep great idea I wish they gave af about the community

Even private servers ran by corrupt Russians who stole most of the donation money knew that this would be an issue and reacted accordingly. They simply had dynamic spawn rates that adjusted due to population. Simple fix, but Activision doesnā€™t care one bit about classic. They are always going to do the bare minimum and take the money they make to put towards other projects that will inevitably fail. Sound cynical? maybe soā€¦but history shows this is exactly the sort of thing you will get from Activision.

Agree entirely with the main thrust of this thread: The same supply of a precious resource split across two or three times as many players just isnā€™t true to the Vanilla experience, period.

Iā€™m seeing a lot of ā€œwho cares, got mineā€ attitude to avoid this simple argument. Yes, on an individual level a player can hoard the lotus before it becomes prohibitively expensive (as I have done). Yes, a player can learn whatever skillset is necessary to farm it themselves. But it is still a systemic, holistic problem for the server economy that makes it either prohibitively expensive or time consuming (time is money) to simply raid harder Classic content in the future.

I think the spawn rate should definitely be adjusted. Flask on my server are around 240g-280g. Spawn rate proportional to vanilla server size would be ideal.

If the server caps in vanilla were 2500, you should use 4 lotus spawning every hour for a population of 2500 as your base line.

If you have 5000 players on, 8 lotus should be spawning per hour. 7500, 12 lotus.

Same logic should be applied to things like Rich Thorium and other herbs as well.

The team that made the game had a server cap set and had resources spawn accordingly. The classic team has changed the server cap but not had the foresight to keep the resources the population needs at the same ratio.

So by now #nochanges has been thrown out the window, low pop servers such as Sulā€™thraze have to deal with people that wont even play on their server taking resources and x-fering them to high pop servers. If nothing changes then it will only get worst. Devilsaur Mafiaā€™s being a perfect example of a precedent already being set on rare resources, the spawn rate of these majestic beasts were increased so drastically it effectively tanked the market from 15-20g per leather to 3-5g, thus effectively ending the mafia. Now the same is being done to black lotus on all servers, with the low pop servers suffering the most from this as their resources are being transferred off.

The best solution would be to not buy them. The only reason they cost so much is because people pay that much for them. As far as Iā€™m aware, theyā€™re not required for anything.

Once the AotC crowd get bored with running the same raids over and over again, the stragglers will be left and prices will become much more reasonable.

I still donā€™t know why anybody even really bothers to play 5 hours+ per day. The game is not going anywhere.
