Just because you never used them in vanilla does not = they are supposed to be ultra scarce, 88 spawn a day that is 616 a week. Old vanilla server caps were 3500. that’s enough lotuses for roughly 17% of the player base to flask WEEKLY.
Well at least they were prepared to change something obviously wrong.
Now it’s diamond flasking fix and a buff to some classes and classic is fine.
This is the problem
In vanilla no one knew the content that was coming out. Now people are pre-purchasing/farming items to sell at a markup later because the KNOW what is being release and what the demand will be. Combine that with low supply and there is an issue. People are basing their purchases and time based on future events that haven’t happened, same thing happens with investing IRL. You win some, you lose some. And it seems in this context, everyone is losing because everyone knows whats coming.
Its hilarious that everyone is doing it and it barely works. They tried with mooncloth before ZG dropped and it crashed hard once everyone was dumping their stock.
I see no issue with the availability of black lotus being increased to reflect the current population density of a server.
If only there were other servers you could transfer to…
I mean everyone has the same opportunity to stock up like everyone else. Every piece of vanilla information is on the internet. You just have to go look. You don’t even have to go far. Go to Youtube. Plenty of people talking about what to stock up on now to sell later.
Not the ONLY sellers, no. But the multi-boxers, botters, cartels, and the other automation armies were the ones MOSTLY selling on the AH.
If I saw Black Lotus from many different people on the AH for sale, even at a high price, I call that a decent market. When I see Black Lotus for sale from the SAME people, in either bulk lots or multiple lots of one each, and these are the SAME people day after day that are posting Black Lotus sales in the AH…
Well, they are either the luckiest people on the face of the planet and should immediately stop playing World of Warcraft and go buy a lottery ticket, or…
More likely they are either part of these large groups of farmers or are benefiting from their exploits. Either way, I think this is a very good change for the average player who either doesn’t have the resources or the will to exploit the game and its resources.
Thanks.
You seriously wanna start talking about wasting time in respect to a computer game lol
There is many reasons players have for wanting to acquire gold.
The main issues with this change to me is:
Short term it sucks as I’ve lost the majority of my progress by trying to be proactive. (But no one cares since they benefit, which is fine)
It does nothing to address the main issues of bots and gold farms. (They will move to lock down the next highest market, they aren’t going to go away)
The rest of the market will become increasingly more expensive with respect to herbs, as The increase use of flasks start to absorb the Market (general consumable prices’s will now start to spike which might become a bigger issue to casual players)
Yeah but it was still fair since “everyone knows” it’s not like it was secret information only select players had to gain an advantage over the rest.
Everyone knew phase 5 was coming and players have thus been using their time to stock up on items they think will make them profit.
Yes you win some or loss some with investing. But this hotfix was The anomaly that causes the negative toward players that actually took time to try and prep well others just gave up.
But this change does nothing to address the bots or gold farms, it simply just addresses the population issue for 1 specific item in the game.
when is the reversing of nameplate distancing coming? I’m legally blind(no joke) and i rely a lot on having nameplates up to see mobs around me and it has made it quite unbearable.
Lol this will change nothing… So you add more spawns and increase the rate of spawns. Once the new spawn points are learned and the re-spawn rate is figured out. All the Bots and campers will just make more alts to camp them.
Ideal change would be more like changing to and RNG based pick like arcane crystals. Give a set % chance to pick a Lotus from Dreamfoil, Silversage, PlagueBloom in the zones that already spawn lotus.
Change is good but I think you all went the wrong direction with it. Make people have to farm rather than just camp nodes. GG blizzard.
It’ll change things for a bit, but long term the same guys who were doing this will do so again and corner the market/boost the prices by holding out on their stock.
At least it’s something to do for now.
I have a question - the above quote indicates that there will be ‘many additional spawn locations’ along with an increase in the rate of spawning - but will the limit on the number of active herb nodes per zone be increased? That is, if there are say 30 potential herb nodes in one of the zones, does that mean that 30 Black Lotus will potentially be present, or just that the same number as now can be found across one of those new herb locations?
I know it says “rate” but I’m not sure if that refers to the speed of a particular node’s respawn, or the number of herbs spawning across the zone - since rate can mean speed or number.
Though I know all of the topics in this announcement are important, this is the one that has impacted me. I had some moron spam opening trades with me while I was trying to mail my alt some gear. Rude AF.
I’m glad to hear Black Lotus was sincerely looked into!
And I find it hilarious that your solution to handle players who hopped out of bounds in WSG is to just auto-kill them. As someone who had to learn how to get to these areas a decade ago because everyone else already knew how to get them and the only way to help your team was to know how to wall jump to combat the wall jumpers… good. These behaviors, and having to counter them as a player without Blizzard intervention, will always hold a place in my heart. Do they frustrate players and ruin the experience? They sure do. But I must admit, back then, I welcomed the change of pace. I’m at most neutral on this topic. If this is what you want to do about it to force people to play normally, then I applaud your efforts.
Maybe the next thing we can nerf is mages solo clearing dungeons and boosting the players for gold lol
Maybe on your server they were fine but I have a strong feeling this is all opinion.
The spawns for lotus were made for 3,000 and lower populations, when the game was first made. Back in vanilla lotus were NEVER anywhere near these prices in comparison to the inflation that’s going on now.
If the server is 5x the people, than the lotus spawns should he 5x as much to keep it how it was on vanilla.
The multi-boxers and bots won’t be able to lock down the supply when they increase the possible spawn locations, if they add enough random locations.
If it could randomly spawn on the same node as any high level herbs it wouldn’t be worth it to multi-box, especially once the supply increases dropping the price significantly.
Why does this misinformation keep being spread? The blue post that people base this off of was explained with another blue post a few posts down saying that the 60% horde win average doesn’t really change if you looked back at data of previous patches.
Horde dominated AV with a 60% win average. If that isn’t true then he lied and invalidates the entire statistic.
BL down to 63g on Remulus (spelling?) at time of post.
You just bet on the wrong horse in this race.
