Black Lotus and WSG Adjustments

Im so confused, in the span of classics release, theyve patched almost all the horde Los/oob spots besides sawmill. (one thats doable by anyone and also very easy) yet they have left all the alliance side untouched. they put invisible walls to prevent you from jumping to the roof and getting behind the wall/flag spot, theyve put an invisible wall preventing you from jumping from horde roof to connector, another wall to prevent the horde exit portal safespot(where you get on top of the exit portal). yet they have left all those equal jumps on the alliance side. you can still get on their roof, sit behind flag cap with flag, and cap it through the wall (as this has happened to me a multiple times) and they can get on thier exit portal. not only the LoS and OoB spots that they seem to favor alliance on patching, ally side also has holes in their fence only small hitboxes can squeeze through (obvious ally advantage) and the ally tunnel jump that only travel form (or increased speed) can do to get from bottom to top of their tun. this jump is so op bc its the only one that truly favors druids. all the horde ones are doable by anyone, and quite easy if i might add… pls just make the sides equal and just patch the out of bounds crap.

Thanks for the update and responding to some of our problem issues.

As someone who has 40 Lotus, I support this change. I just lost a lot of potential gold, but I personally gathered these on my hunter and wanted a stack for AQ and a stack for Naxx.

This is healthier for the raiding community, and will increase consumption to other avenues such as PvP and even speed runs of dungeons.

Once the details of the changes are known, I’m sure a price will balance out more. Currently I’ve seen Black Lotus go from 220g yesterday to 120g on ah with people offering to buy bulk at 90g each (added for point of reference, see comment date).

I am not happy that dead herbers with 300 herb can still see the herb. This has been a plague in 2 zones of US-Kromkrush, with multi boxers with 8 - 10 accounts camping all spawns (some horde and some ally) while dead. Even when we counter camp them with the opposing faction, they are mostly mages who insta rez, sheep, pick Black Lotus.

Please change it so no dead character can see herbs. As a dead character, you should have 0 advantage over a living player besides being able to see other dead characters and the nearby living characters.

The issue with Blizzard making changes in response to player behaviour is that you’d have to make MANY changes to try and bring it back to what the meta was like in Vanilla. Essentially, “no changes” only referred to things like stats, values, etc. not necessarily how the game is “played”/the metagame (if that makes sense).

Biggest examples are Rag being downed in phase 1. Or how content is cleared so easily in fact.

Should Blizzard change Rag’s health to 2 Million since people minmaxed so hard that we dont see a submerge phase? This is essentially what a black lotus change is like.

If the problem that server sizes are so much larger that black lotus per capita is lwoer than what it was in vanilla, then blizzard should just make the servers lower populated by reducing the max size. This problem is only really a “mega server” problem since I dont think a bunch of low pop servers have this problem. So should Blizzard decrease spawn rates for black lotus on low pop servers too?

Sure, but the availability of black lotus has nothing to do with the meta. It’s just a supply issue due to having the same black lotus spawn timers with 5x the population on a server. It’s literally impossible to have a vanilla like black lotus supply no matter how people gather black lotus.

The meta (how people play the game) has 0 impact.

That’s what makes this different.

But I do agree nothing should ever be changed to try and compensate for meta that is not vanilla like.

If the issue is stemming from a previous problem (mega servers), the obvious solution is to just fix that originating problem. It’s not to create another fix which would add another potential layer of problems.

So in this case, the problems are: mega servers. Just make servers their original vanilla size then.
Another problem is botters. Botters are already breaking the ToS. Simple solution is to get rid of them.
That pretty much solves all issues regarding black lotuses. Demand will always outstrip the supply so when people complain about it not being so accessible, that’s intended as the powerups are so strong

you obviously bought your account, that’s the literal only metric you’ve used to try to claim you’ve been here since vanilla.

lmao how are you still on here, you’ve been posting nonstop for almost 3 hours dude

Server pops are not a fixable issue at this point. Communities have been formed and to tear them apart is not acceptable.

Can’t speak for all servers, but on Fairbanks I have yet to see any bots trying to gather black lotus. Seen a lot of black lotus gatherers, or people trying to gather black lotus. None of them have been bots.

Well thats because its the most easily provable. I highly doubt any one would buy a rank 13 account (especially on a shaman no less) and keep it for over 15 years.

Use your brain lol

Thank you. These are great changes. However, please be cautious with increasing the spawn rate of black lotus, and consider waiting to increase the spawn rate until after seeing the effects of increasing the spawn locations.

The biggest problem right now is that the supply is being severely constricted (monopolized) by people who can camp each static black lotus spawn. By requiring high level characters to see black lotus, and hopefully by increasing the number of possible spawns so high that they cannot practically all be camped, I expect this by itself will dramatically increase the supply. There will also be a large amount of selling the current stockpile of black lotus.

Flasks are disproportionately powerful in classic than at any other time and the limited supply of black lotus is the balance for this. Just making black lotus spawns available outside of the current monopolized camping system with level 1 dead scouts, is going to increase the supply several times. It would not be healthy if flasks flipped to the other extreme and became too easy to acquire and commonplace. They would then become the norm for casual raiding and premade battlegrounds (also please fix the queuing system for battlegrounds).

besides us having the 1.13 naxx talent trees and class fixes, People know how to itemize gear “ex not running around in dungeon sets”, connections aren’t horrible, lag doesn’t exist to the extent it did. People are getting world buffs, bringing consumes, using resistance pots. If u want rag to be harder take gear off. The average players now are as good as the best of the best back then.

A much needed change regarding Black lotus, thank you blizz.

That is EXACTLY what im saying. But just about black lotuses. Just like how I can take off gear to make rag “artificially” harder, you can move to a low pop server if you want black lotuses so badly.

Of course, neither of us are going to do that. But since black lotus changes are being made as a response to how the player behaviour changed, shouldnt we stay conssistent?

BRACK WOTUS!? whatever will we do now !? PepeHands

Spotted the botter.

They are actually better.

Id say the worst playing in classuc today is better than the top players back in vanilla.

Oh comon. Do you know how incredibly selfish this post sounds?

So real legitimate players are farming black lotuses just so they can earn a profit? Maybe that’s a play style they enjoy, or how healer makes his money, etc. If real players are playing the game, then thats not really a problem is it?

But then you go on to say that breaking up communities isnt acceptable. Well if you’re asking to modify one group of people’s play shouldnt it be reasonable for them to ask the same of others?
