Black Lotus and WSG Adjustments

no. those changes are not welcome

How will this effect the limited amount of these truly overpowered flasks as we enter a BC classic server where the stats offered by max BC flasks pale in comparison to the stats from these Vanilla flasks?

These exact solutions have been brought up to Blizzard in these forums for several months now. It’s like what 50% of the forum posts have been about so far lol.

The issues with AV are the players, not the map. See below for complete information:

Since there is now so much confusion about AVs and changes to it. Here is a list for people who are unaware.

In 1.12 you get this nerfed version of AV. It was after bg honor weekends were implemented, after most of the honor grind was done for many, and after people already had the gear they wanted.
It was an ally dominated zergfest. Which was fine, that’s what AV was for at that point in time. Alliance dominated the BG.
Enter TBC - AV continues to be ally dominated. Horde queue times for WSG/AB were longer except when people needed BG tokens. BOTH factions demanded/begged for an AV of old.
2.3 hits, and Blizzard makes massive changes:
a)Buffed Warmasters/Lts

b)Can no longer leash them and just pull general

c)Reinforcements added to 600 first team to get to 0 or kill general wins (it was almost impossible to kill general without getting towers down now)

Horde now DOMINATES AV across NA. It was legit awful, alliance had premade TS/Ventrilos on their servers and AV preform enabler was created. Meanwhile, alliance are getting frustrated.

Alliance organize a successful boycott of AV. Literally the queues don’t pop. WSG/AB/EOTS fill up.

2.4 hits, Blizzard has listened. The horde cave moves back. The reason being because Galv was an excellent and amazing choke point. Due to the changes made to AV - the strat was to just let no one go beyond galv, kill the ally down to 0 reinforcements, win match and give literally 0 honor to alliance.

a) This is NOT how AV is currently played
b) Moving the horde cave at this point makes zero sense.
8. The current issue is you have two factions trying to play two different games. Ally has convinced themselves they’re supposed to play the 2.4 + way, while Horde wants the PVP and objectives done for most fun/honor since they’re in 2+ hour queues.

AGAIN - THE SOLUTION IS NOT MOVING THE CAVE. THAT IS US ALLY CRYING FOR THE IT ISN"T OUR FAULT EZ WAY

Realistic Solution Introduce pre 1.12 AV. You can not and should not have the old honor system, with a pvp system that doesn’t reflect those same changes. It is irresponsible as a company/provider .

The rest of you (both horde and ally) flinging poo on these forums need to remember the actual history of the game. The problems we are facing are MODERN issues from the MODERN gamer.

It is not PVP racials winning.

It is not map imbalance.

Here is what we can control as humans:

These are the fixes needed. It is not the cave, it isn’t racials, it isn’t horde being more numerous.

You can read this old article with devs discussing that ally dominated AV: www[dot]engadget[dotcom/2008/02/08/the-av-map-imbalance-in-patch-2-3-a-different-perspective/

And they further discuss how 2.3 made it favor horde.

Sorry alliance, but you’re just wrong about the map at this point in the game. It’s partly a you need to PVP problem and stop thiking you need SBGY for anything. We don’t! If someone wants to they can way back machine this (I can’t cause I’m at work):

wow[dot]joystiq[dot]com/2007/10/01/does-the-horde-really-win-every-battleground/

That’s Kalgon saying ally totally dominated AV.

I agree but there’s legit other threads you could post this on lol

i can’t wait for the 3 people farming lotus to have more lotus

Is he wrong?

I mean, yeah, Black Lotus should have a higher spawn rate considering higher server populations when compared to actual Vanilla, but I wouldn’t mind if they just doubled every boss’ HP. There’s a lot of interesting stuff we aren’t getting to because fights are too short.

Now let’s see some movement on the Stratholme botters!

Like below if you think this is funny:

  • Lotus hoarders that have hundreds of lotus lose 10,000g for every 100g the price drops … per 100 lotus they have.
  • If they had 200 lotus and the price drops 200g, they lose 40,000g. FORTY THOUSAND.

Imagine having 40,000 in raw gold, then logging in today to find it gone. Imagine how infuriating that would be. The only difference here is they deserve it.

They should have done this from the start. The longevity of a tier would be exponentially better had they tuned it. 6 months of MC and BWL wouldn’t feel so bad if you weren’t farming it from week 1.

Rip, no changes is dead

You can only speak for yourself. Don’t speak for others.

We should do everything we can to stop botting I agree. And I think hiding nodes from all the level one toons and increasing the number of node locations is a good thing.

Someone who “no lifes” aka sinks a huge time investment into farming should be rewarded for that. I’m not a herbalist, but I still think the reward should be directly porportional to the time spent farming. If you want to call them a no lifer that’s fine, but they deserve the reward for the time they put in.

You don’t need them to clear content and if you do need them then this should be a guild effort. The burden shouldn’t be solely placed on you. Working together as a guild to get these should be part of your experience as a guild. Whether that’s farming them as a guild or getting money from the guild bank. It’s a guild effort. You don’t need these in solo content.

I think we should wait and see what happens to the prices without increasing the spawn rate. I would be very curious to see what happens.

For both

I agree. The increased spawn rate is actually VERY out of place for blizzard. When Blizzard makes changes, they are slower and more gradual since it can easily break the game.

This is one of those changes where Blizzard should move more cautiously.

Can you imagine if Blizzard decides to actually increase the spawn rate but then reduce it back because of problems? Or to increase boss health and damage to “compensate” for how much easier the content is going to be because of more accessible flasks?
People would scream how its unfair that some players benefitted from this black lotus surplus, whereas others didnt

Imagine how much black lotus is going to be sitting in some botters bag, rotting on a dead server.
