You ever watch a game show called Hollywood Squares?
A key element of the game is trying to decide whether the star in the square you picked is giving you a straight answer or a deliberate flub.
Every time you get an answer from an unplanned question like this… it’s like a game of Hollywood Squares. You might have caught someone completely flatfooted and rather than admit so, they throw out a Paul Lynde answer.

So I guess my assumption on Gallywix backing Saurfang was off! I didn’t really have any stock in the idea, but I’m intrigued to see that he’s on the run rather than kissing up to the new highest bidder.
Despite this, the broadcast text for the post-raid seems to suggest that things are fairly okay now, with the only real threat being Sylvanas at large. I’d imagine this means the gun’s not going off, or if it is, it’s not at the Alliance or Horde.
Wherever the Cannon is firing at it will probably be at the orders of Gazlowe who’d be far more willing to use a weapon(or fireworks if it isn’t capable of being a weapon) rather than keep it unused as decoration like Gallywix did.
We have to remember that this is Goblin tech we are talking about here.

Gallywix isn’t backing Saurfang. Gallywix has run off, and will most likely regroup with Sylvanas and Nathanos.
There’s about a 90% chance we’re going to kill Gallywix in a raid in the next expansion, as Sylvanas will probably be at least the Gul’dan/Kil’jaeden of the next expansion, if not the final boss (Sylvanas and Helya are two of the most likely candidates for being the final boss and antagonist of the next expansion).
Yeah I was about to say given the ‘reliability’ of Goblin inventions if they fired it more than likely the only thing that would happen would be Azshara blowing up…which given how hideous it’s become under goblin occupation would be a good thing.
It’s an enormous shaft named the Pride of Gallywix. Gazlowe would probably dismantle it and sell off the parts just for the sake of a jab at Gallywix.

If you stand on the front of the cannon and open your world map youll see that its actually aimed at undercity.

And a separate 50% chance it will open a portal to the Warhammer universe.

Of course should such a thing happen then if they find out she did it they would unleash their full wrath on Nordrassil burning yet another World Tree!
I feel pretty confident they will shot N’zoth with it. They plug N’zoth with it during the raid and the last two fights is us fighting up N’zoth’s prone body and into the wound caused by an Azerite shell from the cannon.
At this point I kind of hope we fire it at N’Zoth and completely destroy him.
This huge, unstoppable eldritch god gets blown to pieces by a sufficiently large gun. End of threat. Horde redeemed for Teldrassil by single handedly killing the last Old God and saving all of Azeroth. Everyone is happy!

Hell, I bet Tyrande would totally be first in line to sign a peace treaty after that.
I don’t think the Cannon will be used to kill N’zoth but I can see it being used to knock him on his butt so we can crawl inside him and stab him in the heart. After all, N’zoth is the size of a Castle. The second last fight is us climbing up his hide. I think it is highly likely that we somehow disable him somewhat before doing that.
My guess is they’re saving the cannon for the horde to start yet another pointless war in the expansion after 9.0 since it’s aimed towards Stormwind.
