Do you not realize how many times we are going to RANDOMLY pull mobs in dungeons now?!?!
Right now, you cant use Frostwyrm in certain situations cause the wyrms will flight off to another pack of mobs and pull them if they are in line with your current pack of mobs.
I see this time and time again in Jade when you are in the rafters and you dont want to pull the entire line of mobs in on that walkway. You BARELY can use Glacial advance for this reason. Now you are going to have it happen, randomly? Who is going to keep track of rime usage…“okay thats 14 times, better not use anymore or frostwyrm is gonna pull everything in a straight line!” SO now your DPS will suffer cause you cant use you rime proc for fear of Wyrm pulling unwanted mobs.
I like the idea of it, but i see some potential issues with this.
I get that but aim where exactly? Lets say (Lets use Jade again) you are at the Jade Serpent boss where all the mobs are in every direction… except maybe the door you just walked in through. This is gonna be tedious. Maybe it wont, I dont know until its used in real applications but there is no way there isnt a serious potential for disaster not to mention how clunky that is going to be. Okay I need to do a 180 turn every time i DONT want to cast Wyrm in a place we already cleared…then turn back around to continue my rotation…thats terrible.
You answered your own question, at the door you came in, or the walls that dont have mobs at them, you control when these dragons spawn with 4 set cause its every 15 rimes, so you arent RNG proccing a dragon that pulls the room
So once again, stop my rotation, turn around to do a 180 degree turn, launch Wyrm and then turn BACK around to continue DPS. Thats not good gameplay. Its tedious and clunky.
I didnt say move back. Moving back doesnt do anything, you still launch Wyrm in a bad direction. You have to do a 180 degree turn to send it where youve already cleared in order to be safe, then turn BACK around to continue DPS. Thats ridiculous.
Maybe so. Im not totally disagreeing with you but I see this POTENTIALLY being an issue. We will have to see but I dont know of any other class that has to be this tedious with a skill like this. Its just adding more work to the class and takes away a LOT of fluidity.

I mean, if I wanted to attack other targets, I would choose to, not just have random nearby ‘enemies’ blasted, which I may not be in a position to deal with at that moment…if and when it happens.

In any case… I don’t have a frost DK but I did always wonder about that ability.
There seem to be a lot of random proc abilities but I do think that sounds dangerous. Also, hilarious. I’d recommend aiming it a wall? And in Jade Serpent Temple, that awful room, my groups always just pull the mobs into the hallway before that room until it seems safe enough.
