The issue is Blizzard realizing they can monetize a hefty amount of player customization, that’s why some got a hefty amount and others got scraps. Speaking about at SL launch.
All of a sudden with the recent events, after saying no more from SL, they can produce up some for a few races?
It’s great that they’re doing so, it definitely is. But it was also clear they’re trying to monetize the heck out of future expansions with it (when tbh I doubt they need to).
But that’s what puts Blizzard so far behind the other MMOs with much better character customization in place.
Nonironically, I woudn´t mind going back to Azerotyh to witness some “mini-Lor´themars” and “mini-Thalyssras” running rampant on Silvermoon´s or Suramar´s streets.
And yes, I´m aware this open a whole new can of worms customization wise. But if the devs are gonna continue worshiping the inter-race romance stuff, I admit I rather prefer this inter-elf thing to the boring elf-human overdone trope of always.
I was one of the few ones happy to see Thalyssra´s thirstyness rewarded, i thought it was hilarious. And lor´themar for all his “faults” as a character is a decent dude, he deserves more than to pine endlessly over the Draenei weeb and to actually receive some loving back.
Not exactly my man… Draenei have this weird 90º angle on the connection between the torso and the rear.
Unrestricted access to thematics is certainly NOT the same to “copy / paste” asets. Having destroyed the argument about the importance of color palettes on races, it´s silly to continue to bark to this tree.
why do you think i rather propose differences in design? Cause different designs guarantee a bigger color scale without going back into literal copy / paste territory. every time we suggest “same design” the devs will degenerate into their usual ubber lazy (or “efficient” according to some with zero grasp in Quality Control) selves and will gave thge same stuff to both of us but with additional limitations in coloration.
Fen loves yellow, why shouldn´t he be alloowed to use it on his blueberry elves? Moon loves pink, why shouldn´t she be allowed to use it with her Belves?
I demand louder, bigger, and more intimidating hairstyles. The idea of a Dark Ranger with a hair style so bombastic you can’t help but stare before they shoot you between the eyes is really amazing.
Also magical limbs. I’m for prosthetics in general beyond what Mechagnome got but Blood elves could have like ornate gauntlet hands to replace their limbs. If there can be mounts that are giant magic hands, you can have a magic hand to replace a lost one.
I felt like it was considering they said more customizations would come throughout Shadowlands, then around Feb this year stated no more were coming for Shadowlands.
But then again I also saw somewhere else someone brought up how they stated Heritage armors would keep coming in x.x.5 patches until they were all finished and we know that’s not true.
So it could be Blizz having a tendency to over-promise.
Please no more elves. We have an elf for every color of the rainbow at this point! Why won’t we get more Goblins? I want to be a Sea-Goblin! I would also accept Half-Orc/Half-Ogre like Rexxar. They look neat.
farstrider, runic, arcane, pheonix or slightly fire based looking tattoos kinda like the Nightborne have going on.
Kinda hoping farstrider tattoos will be Braveheart like.

still trying to find a good idea on how to incorporate the Blood magic from Pandaria into customizations. Red eyes might work for this if done right.
Depending how Blizzard chooses to do it I’d like to either see San’layn or Dark Rangers be represented as well… though my preferred is with San’layn as their own AR and Dark Rangers as a model toggle for the forsaken.
That would be so dope. They’re easily the best couple in modern WoW.

I’d personally make the crossover theme probably the smallest aspect of customisation for either of them, but I’d still throw something in there - dunno what though
I’d also like to see some tattoos that reflect the elegant aesthetic seen in Silvermoon. A bit of an Aubrey Beardsley vibe. these could be jet black or glowing and fiery.
Not sure if it has been mentioned because honestly I’m not going through all the posts to see but I would like to see customization options like the Shadowsword Soulbinder from Sunwell. I always liked how they looked. I’ve always wanted their shoulders for transmog too.
This is about the closest concept I could think of;
It’s a bit more refined than the Ranger tattoos and makes for a great Mage kind of tattoo. It looks like a derivative of the Nightborne tattoos and I believe it was made by Lancelot.
I also like these Phoenix tattoos from HotS as well;

The shoulders though I believe we’re NPC only, and possibly a derivative of vanilla Horde cloth shoulders???
Those aren’t the shoulders I was talking about. I can’t seem to find a good picture of them. They are the ones that kind of look like spikey black wings coming out the back.
Ok maybe those are it and I just couldn’t see the back.
