Brae, as long as the tattoos don´t use the actual artistic design of the LF Draenei tattoos, the Belves WON´T cross too far into the LF Draenei territory.
And please, stop with the “runes are only arcane” stuff. Death Knights and Zooval himself USE FREAKING RUNES FFS!!! Runes are merely symbols used to graphically represent more elaborated spells, period. they havce been used both IN-GAME and IN the lore for different magical schools, ffs!!!
I like how you used in this mockup the same brightness present on the eyes to make the tattoo stand our more. THAT is what I´d like to see with the rune mockups you so kindly did for me.

I know I´m basically a nobody from nowhere, but please don´t go that route. Not unless you decide to walk away from any sort of “responsible customization” posts -and by this I mean do it only IF you will stop participating to defend the Belf aspects to protect in the Helfer threads (that would be a shame, your presence and input is quite important in there), going hypocritical as the worst of the Helfer crowd won´t help us in the long way either.
Brae, you are literally the ONLY ONE here making the equivalence that rando yellow runic tattoo = Lightforged. People in here just see yellow colored rando tattoo, period.
Don´t relegate your avatar´s race as a mere tattoo option, the Light signifies waaay more for them than for the Belves. the significance of the ACTUAL REAL LIGHTFORGED TATTOOS (you know, the ones sported by the LF Draenei) is probably waaay deeper than what some “arcane” -according to you, i mean why not use “arcane designs” on the yellow colored runes if this will give you some peace of mind- design could mean for a Belf.
For the LF Draenei, is the representation on his/her life´s goal. For a Belf, maybe a way to cast “Consagration” quicker and nothing else?
A phoenix looking rune reminiscent of FMA´s Mustang´s transmutation circle? IN SEVERAL COLORS!?!

SF are NOT the mega dumpster fire I expected them to be… I despised how the cinematic made Sylvanas look even more stupid than usual, but at the end i just laughed.

Anyway, this is why I’m reluctant to read too much into any one thing Bliz does.
I would really like to see practical enchantments as part of the blood elf look. Enchanted jewelry, rune tattoos, scarification, and some magical looking charms.

No new elf customization until the races with so many fewer customizations combined than elves get more.
Um… orcs, humans, dwarves, night elves, taurens, and trolls got more than everyone else. We’d just like the same amount of attention.

I figure I want stuff for my Elves so I’m going to ask for it. It will be up to Blizzard to decide who gets what and when. Also Male Blood Elves got hardly anything.

And as a pandaren i didn’t get hardly anything in shadowlands. What about the poor nightmborn that haven’t even been fixed yet since release? Blood Elves just got a large round of new customizations in shadowlands. Some races got almost nothing. Focus on those first.
I’m gonna go ahead and say, no. Your desires for other races getting new customizations doesn’t trump our desire to receive customizations. Why don’t you go start your own thread instead of coming into others and being negative.

When blood elves already have more customization than some other races combined yes it does.
Except it doesn’t. They stated Allied races wouldn’t be receiving much of an overhaul in SL. However the core races were supposed to ALL receive a plethora of new customizations. Until that is followed through on, you don’t really have an argument here. Go make a panda thread.

Literally all of this - there are so many castes of blood elves that aren’t represented at all in the character creation. Adding these things would actually increase their diversity by an absolutely huge margin and it would just be epic.
The only thing I would add is void elves should get their own set of customisations - like void appendages/tattoos/tendrils/eyes as additional options (but not be able to be blood/felblood/darkfallen for example).

Like I said… Go make a panda thread. This is a Blood Elf customization thread. Make your thread and I’ll advocate for you. But you’re in the wrong thread to be trying to convince any of us that we shouldn’t get more customizations.

No you won’t. You’ll laugh as the cacophony of ‘pandas don’t belong in world of warcraft’ close the thread down immediately.
I’ve never not advocated for more options for any race. If you want something you advocate for it. You don’t push others down, you raise everyone up.
