just another beautiful starry night in magical silvermoon city

Really wish they would update Silvermoon.

It does make sense to have horde and alliance races on separate continents in a faction oriented game. However, I think the faction divide will be diluted due to the smaller population and it inhibiting story growth. I just think the game has moved past that point and faction should only exist for pvp purposes.

It depends for me, I rather not if this involves the humid dreams of the Helfers (a.k.a. the Belf version of Darkshore, destruction of capitol involved).

Thanks but no thanks, I´ll keep my low polygon capitol instead in such case.

While I’m in the camp that I would have enjoyed a warfront as seen in the leaks, I strongly believe that it would be the Horde that would have seen that battle to victory canonically.

And I’d very much imagine that warfront would have taken place in the Ghostlands and likely wouldn’t have seen Silvermoon updated.

BFA was an expansion about taking capital cities away. Not updating them or giving them to the other side.

Silvermoon is the Hordes territory and home to the Blood Elves.

High Elves gave that up when they abandoned us out of political association. It’s no longer theirs.

Updating Silvermoon (and the Exodar) would hopefully be a separate thing to any sort of war based story.

Honestly I want the whole world brought to current time.

Fen, the Nelves WON Darkshore.

Where is Darnassus 2.0?

Nope, warfronts were ALL about systems and artificially prolonging the gameplay aspect of an expac dead on arrival. I was sure the races weren´t going to get anything out of the Warfront deal in-game and look, I was right.

The devs are allergic to updating stuff unless there´s a reason to do so, and after Cata the perchant is NOT about building, but about destroying -frankly, it´s probably easier for them to create a new map and invest all the resources there than to try to update old tech to the new tech they can use for new zones-.

Also, because the chance of the well known troll coming in here to sprout his Bs is high, I´m gonna leave this here:

I don´t see the word "Holy anywhere. Nor “Lightforged”. Nor any other iteration that implies Belves CAN ONLY get “Light” stuff or GTFO as far as customizations are related.

That’s what I mean about being good with a warfront but I don’t think that would have seen any Silvermoon update.

Those weren’t really for story advancement.

The armor/weapons looks weren’t bad for the races involved but yeah pretty much.

That’s the only thing I lament from not seeing the other two warfronts. Tauren and Blood Elf warfront armor and weapons would have been amazing.

I also assume dwarf and Draenei as the Alliance side ones.

Other than that though, it wouldn’t have contributed much.

No, you’re right about that. I just wish they’d change direction there.

The world and game at large I think would be well served with a world update and allowing chromie time to be used through to 60, as well as after to let us play old stuff.

But that’s probably very ambitious and extremely unlikely.

I wish Blizzard would bring the focus back to Azeroth, specifically existing areas, rather than creating a bunch of new islands/continents. That would be a prime opportunity to update Silvermoon/Eversong/Ghostlands. I mean, maybe a new island here or there would be ok, but leaving old zones in a time-locked limbo seems really wasteful.

We already know zones can be phased to be dramatically different, so why not do that like… everywhere? There could be new content in old zones for new expansion leveling/endgame. Imagine having an expansion where Horde leveling/endgame content occurs in the Ghostlands! Doesn’t need to have anything to do with the Alliance at all either.

And while I present this idea specifically as a way to update Silvermoon/Eversong/Ghostlands, it’s a concept that can be used everywhere. There are so many old locales that can be brought forward in time with phasing and bring new content and visual evolution to old areas.

My bet is that after the Cata fiasco, they really don´t see the rewards for the investment.

Heck, let´s be honest: how many people complain over their “nostalgia” zones that got modified for X or Y reasons? Updating zones IS kinda of a can of worms, some people will like it and other will complain about getting robbed of their money cause reused asets is NOT valid as gameplay.

I think the only agreement we all can have here is that BfA´s style of “update” is almost universally disliked -players certainly didn´t like to get their zones “updated” only to seen them burn.

Sounds like maybe you were one of the people whose sentiment I recall about stealing Quel’thalas, no matter as it didn’t come to fruition, maybe they’ll do something with that pile of rocks you did end up with :hugs:

I don’t care about Quel’thalas. Sorry if anything gave you the impression I did. I would be careful hanging my hat on a city after what they did to Teldrassil and Undercity.

The thing is, if Cata had used phasing to change the old world rather than just replacing it (giving us the option to talk to a Keepers of Time NPC in the zone so as to see it as it was and do the original content), I think it would have been received a bit better.

Updating zones with phasing is fine (IMO) as long as the option to see it as it was (and do the original content) remains.

Well considering I outlined the sentiments behind some of the people trying to steal Quelthalas and you chimed in with a “yes that makes sense” perhaps you were recommending Horde gets EK then. Odd choice that would mean we lose our lands on Kalimdor and you lose your EK lands such an odd choice as well.

I suppose then its better that this smoke screen attempt at stealing more from Horde and Blood Elf players didn’t happen, and Quel’thalas is still home to the horde core race of Blood Elves which are High Elves

How dare you mention those names! I’m trying to accept that they’re still gone.

Fortunately, we still have the option to see them as they were thanks to the phasing options I mentioned above! I tend to keep Darnassus and Undercity phased to be accessible personally.

I tend to try and keep things how they’re supposed to be in lore even if I hate the way things are in said lore. I’m weird like that.

Nothin’ weird about that. I get it. I’m just more of a “I like things the way I like 'em” kinda guy.

Lol, I am so glad to know someone else does this because I always thought I might be a little weird doing that. :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart: :sparkling_heart:

My man, phasing is no “perfect solution”.

I literally banned myself from leveling lowbies in Northern Barrens post MoP cause more times than not phasing fails and if a high level players aggroes anything, I got pulled -and oneshoted- in the resulting mayhem.

He evidently doesn´t care, ergo why wouldn´t he mention them?

I´m gonna be very honest: I modify according to my convenience -frankly, as an average player (and by this I mean a non RPer), one doesn´t go into the old world unless a reward (a.k.a. purples) is involved, period.

Sometimes I “unfreeze” Undercity because I needed to by something specific there, but afterwards I leave it back to destroyed, etc.
