Why?
Simply put, if you’re on a server where there is a faction imbalance, there will be massive queues, to enter a BG, for the higher populated faction. The less populated faction will be in the BG’s thus taking their faction out of the world PvP.
This will lead to people waiting to get into BG’s and while they are waiting, what will they do? You guessed it - they will be rampaging along the countryside and ganking to their hearts content!

Despicable - this is such a slippery slope…
1.12 had cross realm BGs. Blizzard already said we’d be getting cross realm BGs. That’s what we’re getting.
It also didn’t have CRBGs. However they ignored us in regard to DHKs, so I expect we’ll be ignored on that subject as well.

Horde have 5-10+ min ques on retail despite mercenary mode. I wouldn’t count on Cross Realm BGs saving horde from 20-30+ min ques in a few months.
World PvP will die down whether they release BGs or not. It takes about a month or so for people to start figuring out what it really takes to get high rankings, so they let up. This is the pattern that private servers followed, it’s the pattern that Classic will follow.
Why don’t you do some research before you start trying to tell people things.

What? 1.12 introduced cross realm BGs, not 1.12.1 and not 1.12.2.
cross realm bgs are a thing yes but on pvp servers horde greatly outweigh alliance so bgs ques for horde will still be much longer than alliance ones thus why i rolled alliance idgaff about factions i just dont want to sit in ques
As long as they have PvE and PvP realms all in the same group it should be pretty even. If not then Horde will have short queues on PvE and Alliance will have short queues on PvP.
Not having PvE and PvP realms in the same groups would just be foolish.
… Cross Realm BGs dont care if you’re queueing from a PvE server.
The population is relatively balanced service wide, so queues should be fairly even.
Please allow me to clarify:
Vanilla did not have CRBGs for a time. Players did not ask for 1.12.
I was horde on MalGanis in vanilla, and had no issue with BGs prior to CRBGs.
Not only are cross realm BGs the way they are running things for classic, you can only get so far from the battlemaster before the queue pops. If they want to spend half a 30 minute queue getting to a neutral zone from the battlemaster, that’s an option. But the time spend in flight is time spent not ganking open world, same as the time spent in the BG itself.

From the first google link a reddit post referencing this video @12:30. It’s actually answered around 12:20.
W/e it is, it has been confirmed months ago. Opinions about it, are irrelevant at this point.
A quick glance at the realm pops right now shows the PvP server pops outnumber the PvE servers. Even if every single PvE alliance lowkey actually loves battlegrounds and PvP (which is a huge stretch), you still outnumber alliance overall by a large margin.
Players did actually ask for 1.12. Not everyone wanted that obviously, but players absolutely did ask for it.
