At the risk of sounding foolish I have a question for you guys. I’ve been playing a lot of randoms the last couple days, but I feel like the Horde is getting absolutely stomped right now. Are any of you horde players feeling the same way? Alliance players are you guys getting win after win?
And, it might just be that I suck. Im not saying it’s premades. If the alliance players are good, they are good and good for them. But I’m winning like 1 in 5 right now.
That’s kind of what I figured. I wonder if it’s not a time slot issue too. I play a lot during the 9:45pm-11:30pm CST time slot. I dont mind losing, it’s just part of the game. You are going to get GY camped from time to time. But like, 4-5 in a row kinda sucks. lol
It definitely happens both sides. I usually find alliance even worse, but maybe that might because the good ally players are using merc mode to play as horde.
I still say they should just do mix faction like they do for blitz. It would be so much easier and faster for matchmaking and could balance out premade vs premade easier as well.
I’m horde and i think it’s mostly pretty even too, although i don’t play many BGs at night.
What i don’t understand is why people seem to talk so much more in randoms these days. It’s not even blitz, yet people are acting like it’s going on their resume.
Mercenary Mode. It’s a feature where you can queue as the opposite faction and it will convert you to a certain race based on your class and current race. You can talk to an NPC by the PvP vendors who will put a buff on you to queue on the opposite faction.
Oh wow, that’s pretty neat actually. What a concept! I’m assuming this is an attempt to break up long queue times and premades?
First thing I’ll do as an alliance
“Hello fellow Alliance, how about Stormwind? And have you guys done Hogger? It’s a shame what happened to Tedrassil.”
Noooo how dare you I should have gatekept this knowledge! I think it was for longer queue times years ago it’s been around awhile, and no problem free honor points… er I mean friend!
I play both factions, and it happens with both of them. Sometimes one faction just doesn’t have it that day. I have no explanation for you beyond that and no advice for you beyond "your luck will turn eventually.”
It’s 90% of the time available to alliance to queue as horde. It’s entirely dependant on whichever side has longer wait times due to more players queueing. It was created as an attempt to balance queue times but it would be better just to get rid of faction specific queueing imo.
Merc Mode also only is available for the faction that has the least amount of people queuing, which now is always Horde. So only Alliance can queue as horde right now. Everyone once in a blue moon that will change for a few hours. But 99% of the time only Alliance can queue as Horde.
Thanks everyone for the reply I appreciate all the feedback. It’s encouraging to hear it’s at 50/50, and it’s kind of what I thought. Last night I got whooped, let me tell you. lol
I’m not big into twitch and streaming and all that, I had heard a lot of the big PvP steamers were alliance and I didn’t know if this had something to do with the population shift. Total conjecture, but just a thought.
