Bg leaver penalty

Could BG leavers have their next 2 BGs be backfill, account-wide? Pushing leavers into the games they leave feels like a nice little hell loop for them

And they’ll always leave, no matter what
what’s wrong with the mentality of these people who always demand punishments for leaving a boring, unbalanced, and lost game?

-Solo Shuffle kill 3’s let’s get rip of Solos, people leave BGs so put more punishment for that, ban people for AFKing BGs
cry after cry after cry for the ways others play
shut up dudes, fight for they to fix the dam game, make it more fun and people wont leave and play more your modes

^^ Amen!

The penalty should be improved. It doesn’t have to be harsher on people who leave occasionally, but serial leavers should start to stack up ever increasing battlenet account wide penalties up to and including a seasonal ban on queueing for rated and a week long ban on queueing for unrated.

People should not be leaving a match every time they start to lose. That’s absurd.
However, some of the epic maps also need fixes to make comebacks more possible.

I know there will be people who will chime in and say that people should be allowed to leave every losing match they find themselves in but that is not healthy for the game and not fair to anyone who does stay in a match, nor all the people who are backfilled into the losing match.

How about just make casual pvp fair and fun for everyone?

The penalties are already pretty harsh. Today I got a 15-minute deserter debuff because when I tried to enter SS, some kind of bug happened and the screen wouldn’t load. After getting sent back to where I was, I saw a message saying “instance not found.” So I had to wait 15 minutes for a problem that wasn’t my fault. Now tonight, I started lagging horribly and after a few minutes got disconnected. Now I’ve got a two-hour debuff

I honestly didn’t expect the second debuff to already be two hours long. The developers don’t seem to take into account that unexpected lag spikes can happen to anyone and that it’s completely out of their control — not to mention weird bugs like “instance not found

Yes and that’s actually a perfect example of what I mean by saying the penalty needs to be improved.
Your first few leaves shouldn’t have any penalty, but the penalty should begin to stack up over a period of time and be account wide.

The problem with the current penalty is people can just hop onto an alt and bypass it completely, and since there’s no stacking penalty they can just keep leaving over and over again on all their alts as much as they want basically.

For rated yes it’s a little different. I was not actually aware there was any stacking penalty for leaving rated (I never have left a rated match). But again, your first few leaves in a period of time just shouldn’t have a penalty or a minimal one.

If only there was an option to que for BG’s with ;

1
“ don’t mind for players leaving games from losing first wave of a fight
”

2
“don’t mind for players leaving games from personal emergency reasons”

I would always pick the second one.

Out of all the BG games that I’ve played in the last few months, a couple of games my internet /computer froze. So I failed to contribute.
And once my door bell rang and I had to afk for that.

I’m really lucky today. I had about 30 minutes left on my debuff, but when I switched characters, it got reset to 2 hours. I went back to the character that originally got the debuff, and now it shows 78 minutes. Totally makes no sense.

Punishing people who pay to play this game is pretty dumb.
It’s not like they are cheating.
People just can’t stand the way the game is going so they leave game
It’s a legit option for people and they get a 15 min desserter buff.
Punishing players instead of wondering why blizz can’t balance their game? And the op was right
solo Que games ruined PvP. They aren’t gonna walk any of that back and they can’t balance anything so
.leave game

If someone leaves a bgb, they should lose 800 MMR and it be awarded to the opposing team and the match should end.

I was in a match earlier where one of our players left after chucking a tantrum when the game was still winnable. Once he left another player left, I’m assuming his team mate. Once the match was all but over, we got backfills. I felt so bad for those 2.

Edit: Almost forgot. Conquest should also be deducted if you leave any rated solo content. Once you reach 0 you actually go negative and then need to climb out of a hole.

Pre mades on random battlegound should be banneable!

It really doesn’t need a penalty like taking away conquest or anything like that.
Just improve the leaver penalty system to discourage serial leavers from leaving.

Easy fix. Do like they do in HoTS. Leavers queue. You still can queue and leave but you will only be put with other leavers until you play and win enough to go back to normal queues.

imagine defending not having a backbone.
nobody is owed a win just because you pay a subscription. if the game is too hard for you stop playing it.

Imo, you’re just criticizing the symptom to the problems. The problems being garbage BGs such as WG where it is optimal to leave, little to no effort by blizz to produce fair games, little to no effort to address premades stomping randos, and so on.

I dont blame players for not caring to sit through some unplayable stomp, which is easily 50% of BGs for one of the two sides.

The real victims here are the back fills anyway. Backfills should be given full rewards for staying through to the end, or something like that. Its definitely BS to sit a queue and get a busted, unplayable BG

Exactly. Here’s a thought, let’s try not to squeeze people between a rock and a hard place by punishing them for leaving a situation that in itself (resembles) a kind of prolonged punishment. I’m not interested in dealing in abstractions (“health of the game” etc.) Having an awful experience and feeling pressured to prolong it is absurd. Now you might say at that point, if it’s generally that bad
why play at all: a good question.

Gameplay is required.

what percentage of wins would be acceptable to you? 50/50 sounds pretty even.

Do you think im talking about win %, or the % of games that are unplayable stomps where only one team is having fun?
