How is this being downplayed? I am perplexed.
There is small talks about each aspect individually, whether complaints or thanks, and thats great. However why is no one framing the grand scale about what is about to go Live?
Lets look at these 3, separately as has been being done, then combine them.
PvP Scaling: has been removed. This is an Overall good change, and is pretty well received by the community. Thats great in a Bubble.
Honor Gear: The amount of Grind needed to get BG gear is already way absurd as it was, now they have added a time gate. Yes they raised the Ilvl to 197, but thats M6 loot, by the 7/8 week mark you can even fully upgrade that gear people will have been clearing 10-15s for weeks.
Conquest Gear Im starting to see talks of the Conquest gear now showing that upgrades have a rating lock, like BFA. Not the best system, but I guess okay in a bubble as it wasnt that terrible in BFA.
Now Lets put those together.
By the time you get your full set of BG gear, the PVErs will be running around in almost full 210, the slots that are not 210 will likely be Vault rewards 223-226, say an Average Ilvl of 215ish for high end PVErs 210 for the majority of semi serious PVErs.
These same people will be in Arena, where you need to go to get your Conquest gear. You will then need to beat someone that is quite a bit stronger than you, to rank up your conquest gear.
With the removal of scaling, this means they will do much more damage and put you at a steep handicap.
You can catch them, by doing Mythic raids yourself, as Getting to Gladiator with a 26 Ilvl Deficit HAHAHA, doubtful. Pushing past with a similar or even slightly higher Skill, someone that does 25% more damage with 25% more health. Thats not gonna happen.
Alts, will be 10x worse. GL starting a new toon, when everyone you face is 30+ Ilvls higher than you, and literally one shots you.
These things are not that bad, when taken in a bubble. Now look at the bigger picture. Its Free Rating for Mythic Raiders, by our requests.
