I think a lot of people banned participated in most, but knowingly not playing in a few still deserves to a ban out of BGs.
31 is crazy though. They’re missing launch, invasion with unobtainable vanity gear, and the rest of their toons progression
So what you are saying is NO ONE deserves a 30 day ban. That is something we can all agree on.
Immediately the 30 day ban should be reverted to everyone. Even the people who were blatantly afk. Then case by case they can roll out target bans that are ACTUALLY reviewed by a human.
All of this could have been avoided if a 24 hour ban was issued instead. The player base would have gotten the memo and it would not be a disaster like it is now.
I think a restriction for AFKing in lets say 5 of out 30 games is perfectly acceptable. 24hrs at most. 30 days for something that minimal when people buy millions of gold or account share boosting or bot in dungeons for profits only get like 3 day bans or 1 week bans.
Even being outrageously racist/homophobic in chat will only get you a 7 day ban.
I absolutely think a first time offense 30 day ban is absurd.
Well there are a few people that had attitudes like, “who cares it’s just bgs” that I think deserve it. They did worse then afk and intentionally threw
But yeah, most people even the degenerates don’t
I was able to farm out my brutal great sword this weekend along with some of my guildies and as far as I know none of us have been banned. But it´s troublesome to see all of this happening. Blizz should come out and address it for sure.
This unfortunately doesn’t help with the false reporting going around with the disgruntled players who don’t understand what BGs are actually for when it comes to gearing and level ranges.
Reporting actual afkers is great and they should be given small bans at first until repeat offenses stop but players like myself who main monitor the game with just music on and am playing but getting reported for defending and then “confirmed” by the automated system as inactive is absurd. They should reverse uno card and start cracking down on bad actors with the report system to get this to stop.

Yuo can get three towers alliance side without killing an archer. being they are not right in front of the door.

I still don’t want to play a game where a automated bot as the potential to ban you for 30 days without any notice??? I mean come on.
Any type of punishment close to 30 days or worse should be reviewed by a human.
I would love a post from blizz stating officially how this process works and where it went wrong.

But even after you cap, what is the logic not to kill them? They are shooting your team
1 day … pfffffffffffff people would still do it no matter what. To get people to follow rules punishments need to be harsh. For all we know this is something they did prior to prepatch farming 75k cap and its accumulated to this point there is a banwave. Some may deserve 30 days but i do agree it should be must lesser for a first offense but one day is a joke. Give them a week and make it double each time the prior time given.
I wouldn’t. Never would I rather someone sit on noob hill outside of a boss than defend a tower.
26 hours later, and my ticket hasnt been touched. Yet the people I was literally pvping with are unbanned right now. Any chance at moving this along? Jeez.

I think you are clearly underestimating what a 24 hour ban would have done.
A. Blizz would not have to undo this major screw up with the 30 day bans. Sure 24 hour ban sucks but it is in no where near the punishment of not being able to play wotlk launch which is why we are all here.
B. The players that were playing inappropriately playing will get some type of punishment and warning. Continued abused would result in a larger ban.
C. Players that were lets say “on the fence” of appropriate play wont be too harshly punished. Maybe they afked some or were just unaware of the correct way to play AV in the first place. This does not warrant a 30 day suspension.

we assume it wasnt deserved … even if it wasnt the problem is people just don’t learn from minor punishments. Anyone whose raised kids for the most part know this.
Why i would make it double. Throughout history people have learned some of the biggest lessons through the harshness of them.
I agree on the first offense. Again, assuming it was their first and not a cummulative issue across the account that was tallied up this banwave. Falso positives exist everywhere in life and should be better controlled i agree but not even humans are perfect.
i don’t see the difference between 0 dmg/heals in a tower versus 0 dmg/heals on noob hill. my point was i’d rather have an active player than an afk player.
well with the low hp…by the time i cap they should all be dead.
One is gaurding your tower. The other is waiting for someone else to make a decision to go into dreks/vans room.

0 dmg/heals in a tower is likely because no enemy came to back cap. 0 dmg/heals on noob hill is literally just rushing and waiting for last boss. At least in a tower if back cappers come, you can assist. Most on noob hill do not.
