Yeah I dont hold my breathe for tickets with Blizz anymore but I know what I did was a lot of what other people were describing with back capping, holding towers or just not making it to drek because Horde won too fast. I played 112 games from Mon-Fri all AV and Mostly on a DK. The last 20 or so were on a boosted H Paladin so even more useless at defending itself. And yes my guild has already said im screwed because of our name.
Yeah you two getting banned sucks for people like me. Well doesn’t suck in beards case because alliance don’t need help winning.
I won’t lie though, and I’m sorry you guys didn’t experience it, but BGs were so fun yesterday with everyone actually contributing.
Losing a WSG when everyone is trying isn’t frustrating, even with boosters. Losing it because people are intentionally running in to die/sitting at GY/not following 20 year old strats….
I could pull my hair out
Once again i ran multiple avs. Sat in ibt did 0 dmg 0 heals and didnt get banned. Cant look at the numbers to decide those things. Sometimes ppl back cap sometimes they dont.
I’ll be a bit timid to touch BGs if I do get unbanned. Probably won’t queue for one til after launch. 30 days is egregious and I don’t want to miss even 1-2 days because of something like this. Been playing this game for 11 years and never once have I been banned or suspended, just out here trying to enjoy the game like everyone else.
Getting a little crazy that every one hasn’t been mass unbanned yet or at least dropped in time. Blizzard is so awful at managing a community.
I was not banned (haven’t had time to pvp this expansion, sadness) but the bans make me wary of pvping in the future. The reports of people explicitly saying in bg chat that they’re reporting people who aren’t very geared for inactivity, memories of times when I’ve ended up getting destroyed as I tried to defend and didn’t get much damage done even though I was trying, and knowing that the stormpike guard quest needs to be completed before you can effectively participate in AV make me very wary. And I love AV, it’s my favorite battleground!
I mean, this situation is a creation of Blizzard making brutal gear too easy to get. There were far less of these in bc prepatch.
In wrath the only people pvping will be ones who want to arena. There is far better gear in 5 mans. Doesn’t look horribly designed either
Most people see the change as a way to have fun pvping and get good leveling gear. The degenerates see it as a way to watch the extended Harry Potter movies and get free honor/experience without doing anything
My friends who I exclusively PvPed with unbanned but I wasn’t. It’s been almost 24 hours since my ticket has been open.
Super happy to be unbanned as I was not afking or not participating but will not be doing BGs which are my favorite part of WoW until this gets acknowledged. I hope the best for people who were also wrongfully banned during this wave of bans.
Not everyone is getting unbanned because some did actually afk bgs
im actually nervous for every second i dont move in a bg. its so lame
I think its a combination of things. People were queuing AV because its fast and the best honor. Tons of DKs were being made and leveled through BGs. Parts of the community thought it’d be great to be toxic and report all people leveling in BGs and those not with the zerg. Undergeared and underleveled people tend to do worse, by a lot. The system seems majorly flawed and I am not only myself very upset but I know there are hundreds if not thousands of others that have received no communication on the topic yet and are still sat staring at a 30 day ban until their appeal is reviewed.
I do think though, those that received a ban, appealed, and were already told the ban was correct were the small percentage that were actually doing ban worthy things.
In my opinion, if you are playing the game and in a bg no matter what you are doing: Cycloning tanks at Drek, Deathgripping healers into the bosses, Back capping, Defending towers, or getting teleported from graveyard to graveyard as you get run down over and over. You should not receive any actions against your account. Even if you did manage to get 1 or 2 AFK kicks over the course of 100+ games, that should be seen as a mistake and obviously not exploitation.
I’ve been waiting for Wrath classic for over 6 months, saved up vacation time, played a ton of retail to try and quench the thirst for the game I played as a kid just to get smacked with a big yellow “Account Suspended” anytime I want to play WoW at all. I can’t even log into retail and do M+ or anything because its an account ban and not a game ban.
Probably the worst part I’m dealing with personally is that Blizzard, by way of punishment, views PvP non participation way worse than RMT or account sharing as they only get 3 days to 2 weeks at most and everyone involved with this, rightfully or wrongfully, received 30 day bans. I don’t equate going AFK in BGs with RMTers and Gold sellers…
Can anyone who has been un banned provide some info on how it was handled? Was it done via email or through creating a penalty appeal ticket? If so what was the ticket number and when did you originally submit it?
I am reading mixed results. Some are saying they submitted a email and have been unbanned, others saying they were resolved via appeal ticket. Are tthese are being resolved in the order they were submitted? If so ticket numbers that have been resolved would be helpful.
Really would be helpful if we had some official response from blizzard about this.
I was banned yesterday. I did not receive an email telling me why I was banned, I was just banned for 30 days and my sub was cancelled. I put an appeal in right away.
Last night, I was unbanned. I did not receive an email telling me that I was unbanned, I just happened to check my battle.net and saw that it no longer said account suspended.
My appeal was not looked at or even answered, but I was unbanned. The appeal was not closed and is still awaiting response with a 7 Day estimated wait.
Blizzard wildin’…
Well when so many are banned in error. They should just reinstate everyone and fix thier reviewing of reports.
Especially considering the 7 day wait time for tickets…
The amount of demoralization going into a major game release like Wrath for these players is not justified.
This is probably what worries everyone the most. 30 days is just crazy.
More people were banned in error than there should have been.
1 person is too many.
